And that the posters here are not sure if LSU wants to pay a buyout?

LSU doesn’t want to pay a buyout, but they will send a private jet to get him just to waste everyone’s time.

$$$$$ is not an issue for Woodward. Not sure how people can’t see that yet

If a buyout was an issue we wouldn't even consider interviewing him. this is stupid.

I know that a "potential" buyout gets mentioned in every thread. What I don't know, and neither do you, is if it is true. And, if it is true, what exceptions there are to the buyout?

He's apparently interviewing with Oregon, so they must not be concerned about it either.

It’s a 3 year 3 million dollar contract

His buyout isn’t going to be insurmountable.

That may not even be officially in place yet. He received the extension December 15 and nobody knows anything about its status or what agreements, if any have actually been signed.

Unless LSU bumps it up, which is possible, they have a set amount they are trying not to go over

That’s a good point

These thing usually have to be approved by the BOD. Idk if he would still be bound by it if they haven’t approved yet.

Someone else mentioned Orgeron has a budget which was why Freeman was supposedly going to be around 2 million per. I gotta think if they didn't up it to land their top choice, they're unlikely to bump it at all.

There's a lot they don't understand. But it doesn't stop them from commenting on it.

if you're using it as a leverage play for a new deal in MSU, you don't do a brief zoom call. I'm not saying he's playing games but wouldn't say an in person interview guarantees his genuine interest either

I have no opinion on him as a DC because I'm not informed. But I'm imagining our melt if our DC left for a division opponent MSST must be livid

We didn't melt Steele leaving. Everyone understood he needed to work in Alabama for his state pension.
