People still believe the key to getting recruits in the New Orleans predominantly black schools is to have someone from Karr or St Aug on staff. This may hold some weight, but NIL offers have a lot more pull now.

And if that's the case, I'd rather hire Kevin Smith and bring Mathieu in as a recruiting coordinator and director of player development.

You think recruits would rather have Uncle Frank or The Honey Badger in their living room pitching them on LSU?

There is a reason he is not retaining him. I don’t know what that reason is, but there is a reason.

Low performance in running the ball the last few years, maybe

But what if he is at another school and that particular school is offering the same exact deal as LSU? Relationships matter, and Frank has built in relationships with PARENTS of these recruits.

And while that matters, most of those kids are still going to want to play for their state. Frank isn’t bigger than the brand.

I still don't understand what "good recruiter" means in the NIL era. If those skills matter why did we not pull even one RB?

He probably did a lot of the legwork on the New Orleans kids - but they just signed even after learning that Frank may not be here. Which just confirms for the right price, kids don't care if Frank is here or not.

He's one of the highest paid if not highest paid RB coach in the country and has no results to show for it post Miles era. I'd say LSU has been generous to him how about show the courtesy back to them? Nobody stays employed at their jobs when their performance review is below expectations. He also sucks in recruiting lately.

No place for him. Can't blame kiffin bringing coaches hes won with. Frank not only one who can recruit NO. Besides he done a bad job shuffling running backs this year they make couple good runs he pulls them out

Frank is a great man and well respected by most LSU fans but he needs to man up and take an off the field role.

Fournette was basically the same all three years at LSU. He didn't really improve that much, he just got more playing time. His vision was and is still bad, and he was not great at pass protection. He was physically just a freak of nature.

Guice had one year under Frank and blew up in his first year without Frank.

Guice had 436 yards as Freshman under Frank. Next two years he had 1387 and 1251 yards.

That’s because Guice was always the better back. I came here to make this exact post, but you did a better job than I would’ve.

Remember when LSU shite their pants about Guice's legal trouble and decided to remove him from the record books, but in doing so it elevated Cecil Collins back into the record books?

good times

Don’t worry, when Bama, Texas or A&M starts stealing top recruits from New Orleans this board I’ll flip back.

Is it no wonder that Frank Wilson has been a part of LSU during two stints, both of which saw the team get worse and worse each year he's been here? We've lost a bunch of recruits from New Orleans while he's been here anyway.
