If Golesh had a real chance at Florida
Poaching in state schools is generally frowned upon, then the optics of if he didn't work out at UF but beat them in their own building with USF... Don't think he was ever a serious option

Are you being for real or is this a troll job? Arkansas does have good financial donors who are apparently ready to win at Arkansas football but that still would make zero sense from Florida's stand point.

maybe they should, then.
No matter what Lane does, there are few quality candidates left.

During the 5 weeks since UF fired Billy Napier, it’s been reported that contact has been made with 12 current coaches.
There’s no panic mode.

Golesh had a real chance at Florida, he would not have signed with Arkansas.

I think there are multiple coaches that *could* be as successful as Lane. The issue is going to be what happens to fan morale if they don't get him. Would I bet on any of them to be as successful? Probably not.
I think at this point it would be a lot worse on LSU to lose him than Florida though. Most fans aren't super plugged in so your average UF fan probably doesn't think they have a shot anyway.

She also works in Arkansas and flies in and out of NWA a couple times a month.

Rumor on another Florida board is we’re offering drink 12 million a year because we’re worried Missouri will give him an wxtension
We already gave him an extension, that’s why he’s making $9M a season, with the results we haven’t seen, we aren’t giving him a penny more, as Moore the OC is making $2.5+ M but contract is up at end of 25.
If Golesh balked at your NIL $ and Ark. has shown they are willing to up their game, then Drink will just be arse-raping you because MU’s NIL $ blows both UF & Ark. away…it’s his calling card along with recruiting.

Woof. That is a rough. Got to give the Coach you're going to hire the keys to the kingdom and full resources to be successful.

Arky got that Wally World and Tyson money. It’s always been funneled toward B Ball though.

Arkansas got the steal of all those coaching higher

Also winning 8 games a year at Arkansas keeps you around for a while.

I really like Golesh, think he would extract every ounce of talent out of whatever place he's at
Posted on 11/26/25 at 4:17 pm to Sleepy_Tiger
There was a lot of Golesh noise the last 24 hours and I don't think it came from the schools, which is why no one outside of the one Arky guy has said anything. Golesh suddenly popped up on Ole Miss radars with some people claiming that "Golesh was told he was next for Ole Miss after Lane". It's the first time his name has popped up in the process for Ole Miss beyond just being mentioned on random hot boards. I think it came from Golesh's camp. Trying to cut through the noise, I think Golesh wants the UF job and is trying to put pressure on UF with some "leaks". A lot of outlets are now going off of that one report but no one is confirming anything which is interesting.
For the record, I think the Drink and Mizzou extension talks leaked for the same reason. I think Drink prefers to be not be in Como and is trying to put pressure on LSU and UF.
