I would not feel comfortable if I was a Pitt fan. The AD, Steve Pederson, was AD at Pitt before he became AD at Nebraska. He was fired at Nebraska and ended up back at Pitt as AD once more. Among his awesome decisions:
- Mandating the school not be referred to as Pitt and instead only as Pittsburgh. His successor overturned this policy.
- Changing the helmet wording of Pitt to a steel-like Panther head.
- Interviewing and passing on then Nebraska DC Bo Pelini to instead hire Bill Callahan...who turned out to be an epic disaster.
-When fired as AD at Nebraska, President Perlman cited (among other things) Pederson's flawed leadership style.
-Leading the decision to demolish historic on campus Pitt Stadium:
and moving all football home games miles off campus and across the river to Heinz Field.

yeah if they get an awful coach. They have a good foundation at Pitt and I truly think Wannstedt had taken them as far as he could.
He is too conservative as a coach to truly be very successful.
There is no reason they shouldn't have won the Big East.

Head coaches in College football can't have a mustache and be successful. It is okay in the pros. They scare off the prospects moms.

Real reason he was fired is he went 1-2 vs Bill Stewart
