Per Dellenger:

Some news here in New York, per sources: #LSU’s Dave Aranda, mentioned already at Colorado State, is also in the mix at #UNLV. He’s the highest-paid assistant in the country and wants to be a head coach. School has spoken to #Oregon OC Marcus Arroyo and Matt Canada.

Nooo
Contrary to a lot of people, LSU’s defense does not suck and Aranda is a good coach.

I’m hearing the Arroyo Deal has fallen through.
From my sauce who called Matt Luke to Georgia.

Not trusting Dellenger until someone local acknowledges this.
Dave ain't leaving for a $2 million paycut.

I guess, but there is nothing in his personality that makes me think that.

Unlv was payong their coach less than a million per year. Why would people waste time with stupid shite like this

Aranda makes $2.5M at LSU, correct?
I assume UNLV will pay him more than $500K.

Perhaps UNLV will pay their next coach more?

DA took a defense that was destroyed by injuries during the year, held them together somehow, and towards the end when they got healthy, have them playing at a very high level.
His stock is high, and honestly, what more can he do as a DC? So unless he wants to be a career DC, what else is left for him?
Especially if he can work a deal to stay at LSU through the CFP. Not sure how possible that is.

They hired Sanchez from Bishop Gorman. While still not 2.5 it isn’t a stretch to think they’ll be paying more this time.
Aren’t they moving into the new stadium over there also?

I hope you're in high school dude. Also Catholic shut out Curtis so I doubt they need a DC.

You're not wrong, but he's making $2.5 million as a DC. Life is good. He'll be lucky to work his way back into that money years from now. He's better off waiting for a big program to open and try to jump into a job paying him equally as much as he makes now, if not more. Taking a $1+ million paycut would be dumb unless he's simply dying to be a HC, which he does not appear to be.

Smokescreen. If he was really serious about being a head coach next season his name would have come up at Arkansas, Missouri, Ole Miss, Florida State, etc. He at least would have interviewed with those schools.

Or maybe, just maybe those schools weren’t interested in him.
