I didn't think Riley was in the mix.
To presume OU would be caught flat footed was always absurd. UT, OU, and the SEC were the genesis of the expansion.
Any competent AD has been prepared for our coaching search at the tail end of last season and made their moves in advance. Aggie's acted with Jimbo extension early, and MSU was ready with their 95 mil.

Very tactfully uses “the ball is in his court” and “now waiting on his response” in both statements about the deal. We know the offer was sent. Don’s dandy here is that it’s not on Riley’s desk anymore.
Keyword "official" I dont believe LSU has put anything out that cant be retracted or denied but I firmly believe the principle offer is verbally in hand.
The fact that OU has not done anything but put out 3rd party denials and has not put a competitive counter offer of any kind on the table screams largely...

Semantics, my man. No official offer has likely been made.
The last couple of job offers I had we verbal offers pending an official offer from the company. I was not technically offered a job until the official document was sent to me.
