If I’m Lanning I build up my resume and wait for a premier job to open up with a school less volatile. I wouldn’t want to work for that Bjork “there was no vote, it was my decision” prick.

No A&M alter here. The right person, can go and change the culture there like KIRBY did at Georgia. IT's not that hard to see the potential, but I know that lsu would hate for aggy to get good, while it's not a concern for a Dawg. Oregon is NOT the better job of the two.

Oregon has less competition for the top kids on the west coast. Now OSU/Michigan/PSU will get some from there with the B1G expanding coast to coast, but Oregon is sitting pretty.

Both teams can win 10 games going forward and make the playoffs. However, Oregon has OSU/Mich/PSU/USC/Washington. I would much rather go up against those 5 even if they are all really good programs than going against Bama/Texas/OU/LSU/UGA.

A&M is now potentially back to being third in their own state with Texas and OU joining the conference.

they would have to break the bank for him, on top of just having raided the bank to buy Jimbo out...

they may want him, just don't know how feasible it is, and let's not act like Oregon doesn't have deep pockets either... i'm sure Knight would pony up the money to outbid aTm

Oregon has more success with multiple coaches this millennium than A&M in 90+ years. He also has The Phil Knight Nike Money for NIL so they are one the few that can match A&M money wise.

He's going to be in the playoffs this year after they beat Washington in Vegas and are absolutely cleaning up California recruiting. They are positioned to win national titles going forward for the forseable future. Oregon has by far the best and most professionally run collective in the country.

He'd be crazy to leave for anything other than one of top SEC jobs.

I think Oregon can dominate the Big 10. The big 10 is essentially OSU, Michigan and literally no one else. Oregon could beat both of those teams this year in convincing fashion.

Agreed. Something is just weird about atm. All the resources anyone could want, great fan support, a fun game day environment and yet they can’t seem to get out of their own way administratively

Trolling aside, it’s a good school with great support and unlimited resources. And yet 1939 says hello.

I’m not gonna complain but it’s hard not to say what the hell is wrong there

Lol

Oregon is getting every good recruit on the west coast. They are set up to be in a 12 team playoff on an annual basis.

Good lord people are funny. Oregon is a very good program, but to act like they will dominate a conference when they have never dominated a worse conference is hilarious

He’s been a head coach for less than two years. He cost his team the game against Washington. If he leaves, he risk becoming the next Tom Herman.

Lanning is in the perfect spot to compete nationally and work on being a better head coach. No reason to move.

Oregon has played in TWO NC games since 2010.

How many NC games (or the equivalent) have A&M played in since.....1939?

If the Pac12 still existed moving forward, Lanning would stay at Oregon forever, but with the move to the Big 10, I could see his eyes wandering.

Why would Lanning leave what he has at Oregon for Texas A&M?

He'd be stupid to want that job.
