Here's the thing, show cause or not, it's still cause for concern for ADs, which is probably what the NCAA foresaw and intended. I'm sure they were very aware that Freeze wouldn't get any offers this offseason, head coach or otherwise, and that was their intention. Freeze screwed up. The only smart thing he and Ole Miss did throughout the 3-4 year investigation, several NOAs, and hearings was for Freeze to resign. I don't think any AD is actually concerned about the calls to hookers. I don't think the NCAA even cared about that. The only reason that information was ever disclosed was because Houston Nutt was like a scorned woman and found a window to put it to Freeze and Ole Miss. And if I understand the NCAA's rulings correctly, those calls to hookers were never even considered. What is cause for concern is why Ole Miss was put on probation and the efforts administrators believe (regardless of the final findings by the NCAA) Hugh took to be in compliance. They cannot risk hiring a guy who let happen what transpired at Ole Miss. They want to see Hugh Freeze on the straight and narrow somewhere else before exposing themselves to even the remote possibility he will screw up again.

The NCAA actually found Hugh Freeze to have "Promoted an atmosphere of compliance." He is immediately eligible for an assistant job. One year ban as hc due to a lack of control.
I think the rub n' tugs scare the board, but people have come back from worse. Everyone deserves a second chance, especially if they have a history of scoring on bama

What you dipshits dont get is a search of only 1 weeks phone records turned up calls to escorts in recruits home towns, that is why he was fired.
Even worse was the lying to his employer and doing this on a state phone.
No school in the USA is going to take the chance of that bomb exploding under their nose should someone decide to dig a little deeper.
He is toxic and done coaching major college football in ANY capacity for the forseable future.

Freeze would be a excellent OC, he is just a PR nightmare with undoubtedly LOTS still not public.
He did not walk away from OM and the buyout quietly for no reason.
Does anyone remember OM statement when they fired him? A troubling pattern?
He is a ticking bomb for any school that hires him.
