so in other words, CP is out.

I don't believe Clancy is out the running.

Miles may need to buy some more time before finalizing decision. But, I think he wants to get this right. Does the DC need to be a LB Coach? This is the assumption everyone is making but I am not so sure.

If he starts completely over he contacts CP and they sit down and have a talk- "what do we need to do to get you to LSU? Simple question and it has a simple answer and it is doable.

Did not say he would I just said he can

or he can do what he is known for doing and that is being stubborn, doing things his way to prove he can do what he wants because he is the HC

we know how that ends

To me I do not nor ever have seen it as stubbornness, it is a failure to access information accurately, assimilate a plan and then successfully evaluate the results, to me that is a whole lot different than stubborn.

Pure speculation, but I just think Les hasn't found the guy he feels would work best. People say he's overthinking, etc. but he's the one with a $5M/year salary on the line - not those of us second guessing him.

It's been less than a week since Chavis left. In the grand scheme of things that's not a long time. We as fans are EXTREMELY impatient.

Les' initial gut reaction was to reach out to Kevin Steele & Clancy Pendergast. I think that's where he goes back to. And FWIW, I've heard Saban loves Steele and would like Kirby Smart to get a HC job so he can promote him to DC at Bama.

Although he's not popular, I'd support Steele. I'd prefer Shoop or Pendergast & O.

CP, all you gotta do is come coach as DC for LSU! As long as you make no more than $xxx, for 2 years, and oh if Les Miles somehow isn't the coach you only get 6mths of that salaray. BTW you must agree not to be able to bring any of your own staff because all contracts are signed and we aren't paying anyone to leave.

We have a deal????

I can see this. I appreciate your perspective and info. It is relatively early in the process. Miles always tends to approach those he trusts first.

I know it is tempting to fall into thinking that and use that label but I really think he is missing a piece of the puzzle.
