They want a coach on campus by 12/1. 80% of kids are going to sign on the early signing in December. NFL season isn't over until 1/9/22. Woodward isn't hiring an NFL guy for that reason alone. This LA class is one that can win a Natty in 3 years. They don't want to jeopardize losing any of the big gets.

Urban is the best college football coach of this era not named Saban. And it’s not even close. If we are talking winning and not all these other BS factors, Urban is the best option.
