Belowpar, how much money is LSU willing to pay to reel in a top OC?

AU is paying Gus 1.3

UF hired Weiss for who knows how much money..

We need to pay if we are going to play? No?

Did the Michigan conversations cause us to miss on Harsin?

Steve Logan. Kragthorpe is not a good hire.

from someone I know in Texas:

Kragthorpe interviewed for the Texas State head job. Actually, he canceled at the last minute. He also got hired last season by A&M, but quit before the season started because of "personal medical issues." Apparently his wife has mental health issues, so I wouldn't count on him.

Maryland's head coach is supposed to make an announcement tonight about a "big time" OC -maybe it will be GC. Hopefully it is out tonight - they are an hour later than us.

I wonder why Harsin would pick Texas over LSU. Hes a co-OC along with Applewhite at Texas. Could be the main guy at LSU.

How much is Texas paying him? Is there any way we could outbid Texas and snatch him up? Or is that completely out of the question?

He went after the Tulsa job but apparently they weren't interested

teve Kragthorpe has spent the past few months tending to an ailing wife and watching his sons' high school football games.

The former Tulsa coach has also been battling an itch to return to the sidelines, where he hadn't roamed as a coach this fall for the first time in two decades.

Tulsa's recent vacancy sparked instant interest from Kragthorpe, who led the Golden Hurricane to a 2005 Conference USA championship and 29 victories between 2003-06. Immediately, Kragthorpe was tabbed a candidate - even a top contender - for the position.

On Tuesday night, after the 45-year-old was told by the TU administration that he would not be considered for the position, the former football coach couldn't mask his surprise.

I say if Miles wants Harsin that bad, go rip him out of Austin, whether there's a buyout or not. I'm sure he'd rather not share the OC duties.

Can't find an exact number but I did find this:

quote:

Boise State wouldn't be able to compete with the money offered at the University of Texas. Harsin would earn $285,472 in 2011 with the Broncos. Several media outlets in Texas have reported the Texas Board of Regents have already approved a seven figure salary for the position.

I'm not sure if that 7 figure salary is split due to the position being 2 people.

I doubt it is split. Probably the only reason he is ok with co-oc and Texas can definitely spend that kind of money.

anyone know what the deal was today with Whipple being reported by ESPN to be interviewing for the Maryland HC gig?

I thought Edsall got that job.
