He has been dead. It's just a reanimated corpse they're using now.

Dallas Radio has been saying this all week.

AND part of the reason is he will accept Jason Witten as an assistant coach/coach in waiting.

Witten is coaching at a very small school in texas and just got started.

Maybe they do think they're hiring Marty. Brian is 51. What if they end up good? Does he just have to leave?

There's no way. he will accept him as coach in waiting. On the staff? Sure. But what if the guy does a good job. He's just going to step over for some goof with almost no coaching experience. You could listen to Jason Witten on MNF for one season and tell that dude was not some football genius. I'm a big Witten fan as a football player, but listening to him talk football was painful. Can't even imagine him being a HC.

now the Fort Worth news reporter is claiming Pete Carroll and Jerry are talking and the Shottenheimer talk could have just been as a OC. He was OC for Carroll at Seattle.

Id much rather that. Also, Rex Ryan as DC

Yeah I wouldn’t hold your breathe

quote:

On January 12, 2021, Schottenheimer was fired by the Seahawks following the Seahawks' Wild Card loss to the Los Angeles Rams due to "philosophical differences".[9] Despite a torrid start to the 2020 season which saw career highs for quarterback Russell Wilson in touchdowns and completion percentage, Seattle's offense struggled considerably during the final weeks, with Schottenheimer taking the brunt of the scrutiny due to lack of creativity in the offense and adjustments to the scheme. Regardless, the Seahawks set their franchise record for points scored in a season with 45

Also hiring Pete Carrol as HC and then bringing in Rex Ryan as DC is completely nonsensical. They both have completely different schemes.

A better comparison would be South Carolina hiring Shane Beamer

Son of a former big name who spent a long time at the assistant level getting a shot partially based on pedigree/lineage

Ehh Shane’s been a pretty good hire for South Carolina though..this isn’t

Would you have argued that it was a good hire for them at the time?

No need to be pedantic about this
