Even if they get into the Big 12..which UT is fighting politically, going back to old SWC issues over the school from the wrong side of the tracks mentality...their stadium still seats only 40K and the school has to pay the athletic dept. upwards of $20M every year just to keep it afloat. Big 12 money might help some, but no way will their program get enough money to even begin to compare to LSU's athletic programs. Head Hawg left Whisky because he could not pay his assistants comparable money. And when is the Big 12 making a decision, any time soon?

It is going to be funny when Texas keeps Houston out of the Big 12 in order to steal their coach and then the coach goes somewhere other than Texas.

As the end of the season approaches the more frantic they'll become.
They knew this run wouldn't last. Houston is a stepping stone job. COaches have left them for BAYLOR and almost jumper for SOUTH CAROLINA.

People are too focused on football. Texas wants a campus in Houston and UH is a roadblock politically. If Texas has to make their already crappy conference a little bit crappier by adding a commuter school to get what they want they will do it.

Not sure what is meant by "Texas wants a campus in Houston"? Are you suggesting a quid pro quid situation? I have several long time Horn friends & they were fighting to keep Houston out of the SWC decades ago. There is a ton of intense distaste for Houston by a lot of old, big money Horns. Not sure that Houston's political stroke comes close to UT's.
