The thinking is that Barry Alvarez won’t let Leonhard get away. He’s the 1 guy he’ll do anything to keep.

I agree Carl. its a tough spot for us to be in. O has managed to historically shite the bed which is a giant problem and he appears to have lost control of his locker room.

I think we might be in a better position if we fire Bo and put E in the back of the house. If we can bring in a good DC and OC and let Ed return to what he was last year then we are in a much better spot than having to go down to number 30 on our list.

Probably so, but I haven't watched much Wisconsin lately. which ironically would probably fit our players better than a 4-3 does currently

Ahh yes.

I see now you’ve addressed that point already and probably will continue to be a point or 2 ahead. We mostly agree, I think. I may be a tad more optimistic (or naive) that the shite isn’t quite that close yet to hitting the fan, but maybe a tad more cynical on our options if it does. And that’s just because we seem to be running out of place-holding mascots. Can Lou Holtz be propped up for a few hours 12-13 times next year?

This would be the 2nd coordinator that Orgeron will have hired and then fired after 1 season. I’m not sure how anyone can trust him to make the correct call at this point. On top of that, Ensminger is rumored to be retiring so he’s hiring two new coordinators this off-season?

Seems like a pending shite show.

No decisions about O but Pellini/Linehan won't be here next year and Ensminger either won't be here or will be in admin
Johnson won't be here either

Nobody knows if Pelini was even O's top choice. I definitely think he was up there on the list but go research Woodward and Verge's relationship with Pellini and then tell me that those relationships didn't give an edge to Bo in getting the job

or it could be what we need. E clearly isn't the answer at OC. it also may save some of the departures.

I do agree the hiring and firing of 2 cords. in four years isn't a great look, but LSU has money and talent so it keeps itself attractive for coaches. We can pay you great and you know that you can win here by evidence of our 3 titles since 2000 plus we can put you in the league or in a head coach job.

I really wish Ed would stop with the old man hires the scared to have a guy leave shite, we should market it as come here for a year or two dominate get head job or NFL job and build a pipe line for young innovative minds. I do realize there is inherent risk in that strategy but its better than what we are currently trying to do.

I do think we failed in our shadow staff by not making it the coaching rehab house.

What do you think of Campbell? He has to be the first call, right?

Being able to pay doesn’t matter as much when you’ve got a relationship for having to fire guys after 1 season.

Yeah, no thanks. The idea of having Orgeron hire coordinators every year or two is a bad one.

So, for the 2nd time in 4 seasons a coordinator was “forced” onto him and then had to be fired after 1 season?

Seems like a problem, no?

I don't think Bo was forced on him. I think Bo had an advantage to get the job with his relationships with the admin

I also don't think Bo gets that big contract without those relationships

But yea it is a problem and if O didn't really want Bo he shouldve put his foot down

fricking idiots on this board, running off O after the best season in NCAA history. I can't even begin to imagine how the frick they get through simple things in life.

What we really need to be looking at is possibles and not possibles for OC/DC

its snowballed bad on O. Gene Chizik had a dominate season and then had to be fired two years later when the wheels completely came off.

O has had the wheels completely come off since winning the title. I'm not saying we should fire him, but he put himself in this position by 1. refusing to hire a real oc after Brady left 2. bringing in a shite NFL coach that has been fired over and over. 3. brining in a guy that is so out of touch with todays game as your dc. 4. He has major roster issues, some his fault, some not.

I do agree with giving him one more year to fix all of these things but he brought all of the heat on himself by being the worst defending champion historically.

You have to wonder if Chase opts out if we have a young Brady esque oc instead of E.

Perhaps O can pull a B. Kelly and go from winning seasons to a bad losing season back to being a contender.

I really hope that with Bo and E gone we hire great replacements and can get this thing rolling again. O can recruit and keep us going there so it would be nice if he could pull this back up with the help of good coaches.

Don't agree. You don't know the the booster's mentality or how the conversations with UM would go.

You have to realize that we couldn't afford an Urban contract in good times, let alone now. The mentality of the boosters doesn't matter when ya broke.

O's problem is he now has a probation level roster numbers. Maybe even worse than that if some of the rumored players leave. so now we're looking at a multi year rebuild. something O has not history of proving he can do. i see no way he's LSU coach in a year.
