Coaches who aren't really options for LSU right now

1. Joe Brady
He's an NFL coach and is going to get interviews for HC positions in the NFL this year. College is a huge demotion for him AND he reportedly hates recruiting. He was here for 1 year and has no other connection to LSU to demote himself and take a job he doesn't really want.
2. Kendall Briles
We have a major Title 9 investigation going on right now similar to Baylor and there is no way we hire anyone associated with that shite show, especially one with the last name of Briles.
3. Hugh Freeze
Again, we just submitted proposed discipline for NCAA violations and the NCAA may drop the hammer for Title 9 stuff. If we thumb our nose at the NCAA by hiring a guy who literally JUST came off a show cause, we're tempting fate.
4. Urban Meyer
He just turned down UT and Mullen is still in the SEC. If we fired our staff this year it would push our AD and TAF to the brink. There is no way we'd have the ability to offer a bigger guaranteed deal than what Jimbo got (we couldn't afford that deal in the good times. How do you expect we can afford a bigger, more expensive deal in the bad times?)

Thank you for this thread but you'll still have idiots clamering the board non stop with threads on them.

I'M DOING WHAT I CAN
also the OP isn't exclusive. if somebody wants to tell me to add someone with good reasoning, i'll add them to OP
like i think campbell could theoretically be an option, but i don't think he'd come here. that's not enough
i almost put the coastal carolina guy, b/c he has a history of NCAA violations. i think our next HC will have to be squeaky clean

unless we can fire O with cause, i don't see LSU firing him this offseason. at best we fire BoP and get a new DC

It really feels like behind the scenes that they're trying to get as much out in the media that they can to do so. So are you on board with that thread from Vol about the coordinator changes?

honestly i don't think any decisions are close to being made. that title 9 thing is a HUGE cloud over all of LSU right now
also, i'm not sure if they can get guarantees for TAF booster contributions on that level right now due to Covid
Louisiana is on the precipice of total collapse, starting with Nola and with a secondary explosion in BR

His next head coaching gig will be at one of these 3 places:
South Carolina
North Carolina
Tennessee
Slight possibility he would go to Virginia Tech but he’ll stay in the Carolinas unless someone gives him a Godfather offer.

Already thinking Beamer doesn't make it?

I disagree on three. He has been clean at a bible school and hiring hookers is the exact opposite of ignoring title ix.
I’m leaning on the side that the title ix stuff isn’t that big. The fake news reporters tossed in all kinds of clear junk. You wouldn’t do that if guice and drake were that bad.
I will admit it is risky and initially I was 100 percent against the for cause route as hiring a clean coach isn’t ideal because I don’t think many of them are winners.

Given that, how many—that we would accept, much less want—would rush to be first kid raise their hand to take the job knowing how hard we’re willing to get out of paying our head coaches tens of millions of dollars ONE YEAR REMOVED FROM THE GREATEST SEASON OF ALL TIME?
My point is this: that list is a whole lot longer than 3 names. Probably closer to 30. At which point, you’d have to hold your nose and hope Orgeron can either turn it around or simply not set fire to it on his way out.

if it's for legit Title 9 issues, i don't think this is as bad as y'all think it would be
texas tech and baylor had no problems hiring guys after firing coaches over scandals.

i honestly think if the wheels fall off, our next guy won't be "the guy" and will have to be a caretaker during the shitstorm
ironically, that is the perfect job for O

You’re right about that specific reason. But you’d just be pivoting into the other direction with sanctions. If O did something so egregious to get fired with cause only one year removed, what can of hell do you think the NCAA would bring with its reckoning? I just think it’d be a terribly unattractive and unnecessarily risky gig for anybody we’d want.

why would Leonhard not be attainable for us as a DC?
Yes, Wisconsin is his alma but they absolutely refuse to pay their coaches a good salary. He can be pulled.
