He is willing to take way less money and earn his paycheck. LSU needs to spend more on recruiting and try to recoup some of the loss we took with miles

The fact that he is an Interim who basically has no control over the offense or defense.

I think if LSU can't get Herman or Fisher, they keep Orgeron until the right candidate surfaces a year or two or three down the road. People always want to point to his Ole Miss record. I don't know what he would have done in 2008 at Ole Miss but I can tell you that Houston Nutt put back to back 9-4 seasons on the strength of O's 2006 and 2007 recruiting classes. You think Nutt resigned at Arkansas after going 8-3 to take over a 3-9 Ole Miss team because it was a destination job? TWICE now, Orgeron has shown that he can take over a program underachieving teams in difficult circumstances and win when he has the talent to compete. He's won 73% of his games as an interim HC inheriting somebody else's system and assistants. I think he's learned from some of the best HC's in college football, learned from his mistakes at Ole Miss and knows more about what it takes to lead a program. At the very least, his recruiting ability will keep the cupboard stocked enough to win 8+ games a year until the right fit comes along.

Everybody loses a game they aren't supposed to lose from time to time. My reason for wanting Herman is his showing he can win games he's not supposed to win. If can get Herman I think you hire O because there isn't really another coach out there that you are excited about, and O ha showed the ability to organize and have his team playing at a high level in majority of games. In a year when he took over 4 games in and didn't have the benefit of bringing in the OC he wanted or an offseason to put the work in to change the offense much. Now the offense has looked different in they are using more of their weapons in the passing game which is a major bonus. If les showed that change alone this year in the first 4 games he would still have a job here. I repeat if can get Herman or to me at a lesser degree jimbo you jump all over it but if you can't unless you have another coach you are in love with as the AD you sign O and give him 2 years to see what you get then if need another change do it. He will be relatively cheap compared to either of those 2 which isn't the reason but no reason to over pay a coach you really don't want.

And if you have another coach other than jimbo and Herman you like tell me and sale me on it I'm far from a guy that thinks coach O should automatically get the chance

What? They already spend a TON on recruiting. What the hell are they short changing on the recruiting front? They get top 10 classes every year, and most of the time top 5 classes.

Who has more big time program experience than O? (Jumbo maybe but not Herman

Herman was OC for a national championship team recently. He also has a winning record as a head coach. Orgeron has failed at his only full time HC position and hasn't been a coordinator.

So O letting Leonard play even though he was hurt because he just wanted to and Guice being on the wrong page and running the wrong way OUT OF A TIMEOUT is just execution and has nothing to do with the coach?

by this rationale, Les Miles should still be the head coach.

Herman inherited a very good team at UH and went 11-1 with the other guy's team.

After one year of his own recruiting he has gone 9-3.

4th place in AA conference.

Why even consider the guy?

If I were looking for a coach with $6-7M per year to spend, why would it be him?

coach O wouldn't cost half that. could give Aranda a big pay raise and hire a top OC (though Ensminger has shown to be a top OC as it is. Coach O will earn his raises unlike the others we would go after.

I'm not going to go through all the reasons that Coach O is greatly qualified again. Plenty of those threads already exist.

if we are ok with 2 losses, we should not have fired miles.

I think he's close-minded offensively. He's already stated that he's going to run a prostyle and i think he means it.

I can see stubborness in him. Once the interim tag is removed, and he doesn't have the pressure of having to coach for his life, he will be exposed.

Saw that against bama and Fla. He will be very Miles-ish.

Certainly if we expect less than 2 losses we do not want to hire a coach from the 4th place team in the AA conference that lost 3 games.
