has he really had the opportunity? spare me Ole Miss they don't have the checkbook LSU does to hire assistants. OC & DC's would kill to come here for the salaries LSU pays.

Because of Aranda. O had nothing to do with it.

The only thing that holds any merit is "he's beaten teams the way they should be".

You would've gotten the same result with Les Miles as head coach in all of those games.

Since you're bringing up Coach O's past and saying he can't change or adapt. Lets look at some of your names.

quote:

Saban? Of course.
Meyer? No doubt.
Harbaugh? You bet

Will not be leaving Alabama/Ohio St/Michigan.

quote:

Jimbo Fisher

Has struggled to win in the ACC with all of his 5* talent. Hell, he gave up what 63 to Louisville and his offense could only score when the game was over.

quote:

Tom Herman

With his superior talent at Houston he lost to Navy and SMU. SMU he only scored 16 points.

Every coach has a black mark. That doesn't mean they don't deserve a shot.

What did LSU do special vs those teams that Les Miles wouldn't have done? LSU ran it down their throats all game.

Bingo. These fans are setting themselves up for Les Miles 2.0.

Yea because the past few years Miles has really beaten those tough Arkansas and Ole Miss teams.. give me a break.

LSU lost 10-0 against Alabama and one of the best defenses in the country this year. Two years ago LSU lost to Arkansas 17-0 under Miles against a terrible defense. Miles played down to so many opponents.

Then he should go to a lesser program and prove himself. That's how this usually works.

Ole Miss and Arkansas 2016 are far worse than 2013, 2014, 2015, etc. It's not even comparable. Orgeron is in a year where the entire SEC is complete trash with talent outside of Alabama and LSU

You don't hire a coach who is 100% dependent on his coordinators.

It would be like hiring a new HC every time a coordinator left.

If Ed Orgeron couldn't be a coordinator at LSU. Why do you want him as a head coach? You can't get away with just having a CEO-type in college football these days. It's why Miles got fired. LSU cannot settle for Miles 2.0.

Couldnt agree more..

Are you really going to try to tell me that long-tenured OCs/HCs are worse candidates than Orgeron because they lost a few games?

That's possibly the worst argument I've ever seen and goes completely against any logic that would be used to hire a head coach.

You wouldn't have wanted Saban either. He lost to UAB and ULM.

If they haven't seen the light by now it's too late for them. If they love Coach O so much tell them to be a fan of whatever G5 school picks him up. If he doesn't even get interest from G5 schools they need to be banned for their stupidity.

Ole Miss maybe, but no to Arkansas.

I would almost bet LSU was favorites against Arkansas in almost every game under Les Miles and we've played poorly.

2005 won by 2. Arkansas went 4-7 while LSU went 11-2.
2006 won by 5. Arkansas went 10-4 while LSU went 11-2.
2007 lost by 2. Arkansas went 8-5(4-4 in the SEC) while LSU went 12-2.
2008 lost by 1. Arkansas went 5-8 while LSU went 8-5.
2009 won by 3. Arkansas went 8-5(3-5 in the SEC) while LSU went 9-4.
2010 lost by 8. Arkansas went 10-3 while LSU went 11-2
2011 won by 24. Arkansas went 10-2 while LSU went 13-1
2012 won by 7. Arkansas went 4-8 while LSU went 10-3
2013 won by 4. Arkansas went 3-9 while LSU went 10-3
2014 lost by 17. Arkansas went 7-6 while LSU went 8-5
2015 lost by 17. Arkansas went 8-5 while LSU went 9-3.

Show me where LSU dominated Arkansas when Arkansas was down. In one season Coach O beat Arkansas the way they should be.

What you're showing me only further cements my point.

Arkansas is far worse than they've been in the last decade.

If you truly think that the x-factor was Coach O, I don't know what to say..

yea they were worse this year than in 2012 when John L Smith was their coach and they didn't win an SEC game or the next year when they didn't win a SEC game again or in 2014 when their first SEC win in 2 years was against Miles.
