Coach O fans - would you want Ed as a coordinator?

Follow me here and ask yourself:
Would you want Ed Orgeron to be DC?
What about OC?
Would you want Jimbo Fisher or Tom Herman as OC?
Think about every successful head coach in the country right now and ask yourself: would you want them to replace a coordinator at LSU right now?
Saban? Of course.
Meyer? No doubt.
Harbaugh? You bet
Fedora at OC? Yes
Paul Chryst at OC? Yes
Muschamp at DC? Maybe
Derek Mason at DC? Maybe
The list goes on and on and on.
If Aranda left LSU, would you want O to replace him even then? I know I wouldn't. There's many more proven defensive coordinators out there to choose from.
If Ed Orgeron couldn't be a coordinator at LSU. Why do you want him as a head coach? You can't get away with just having a CEO-type in college football these days. It's why Miles got fired. LSU cannot settle for Miles 2.0.

Just goes to show how good Aranda is. Not the point of the thread.

Head coaches only need to make great hires and recruit

Well, that's just not true.

Kind of agreed till this point. Coach O has openly said one of the reasons he failed at Ole Miss was he tried to force the USC offense onto a coordinator that didn't know it at Ole Miss. He has since then allowed the OC/DC to do their jobs and you've seen success at USC and LSU.

Take Aranda out of the equation. He's left LSU.
Would they still want Orgeron as HC? If the answer is no, then he in no way should be the Head man at LSU.

You really believe Coach O doesn't know enough about defense to be a DC?

Aranda is elite - we all know this
Ensminger is showing just how bad Miles and Cameron were. The only real defense LSU has played under O is Alabama and they shite the bed.
What exactly is Orgeron doing? Every other successful head coach significantly impacts game plans and the way games are coached.

Yes I believe that. No one wanted him as DC. Not even LSU. They hired Kevin Steele as DC over him.

And with what OC? We currently have a TE coach as our OC.
If he could get a successful OC why couldn't he be successful?

There is zero evidence O can do this.

Why does he need elite coordinators to be successful? What's the point of having him then? What value does he add outside of being a recruiter and DL coach?

His staff at Ole Miss was full of good assistants.

What OC is he getting? What happens when that OC moves on to a HC position after a year or two and we have to bring in another OC?

Name a coach who doesn't want elite coordinators

He's motivated the players. He's beaten teams the way they should be. He's reached out to alumni. He's continued to recruit for LSU. He's done all the right things at this point.
Everyone wants to focus on zero points vs Bama. Well Alabama's high powered offense only scored 10 points vs LSU. Sometimes you have to tip your cap to the opponent. Alabama is the best team in the country this year and with Coach O as our coach we ran with Bama till the last second.

And how did he do at Ole Miss?
And I already know your response:
"He tried controlling everything"
If O is that bad of a coach to where he tries to be involved in everything and negates his awesome assistants, he shouldn't be a head coach. Reminds me of Les Miles.
