Pat Haden doesn't make these decisions. He is a puppet for their boosters. He was instrumental in not blowing the lid on any Pete Carol violations, including the Reggie Bush scandle. He provides options and then gets the ok from the money.

He's a shitty playcaller, never been a head coach, got boatraced by Oregon two weeks ago, got dominated by ND, and barely beat Colorado.
Other than that, he's great.

I don't understand why any top 20 program would pick a guy with no experience as a HC. Those guys are 10 times more likely to fail than a guy with quality experience as a HC.

This is just crazy to me.....its USC for christ sakes they should have their pick of almost anyone. Those Kiffin/Sark hirings really screwed them immensely.

Who would you want in lieu of Helton? Chip? No thanks. Give me the guy that gets the most out of his players, and let the athletes do what they do best. That suffocation of fucla in the 4th quarter was exquisite. I'm OK with this. Stability matters right now, and so does keeping our recruiting class together.
