Does anyone have a link for the players reaction to Kelly getting the ND job? I was at the bar and couldn't hear what the players were saying but they looked pissed.

Offensive coordinator Jeff Quinn will coach the Bearcats (No. 3 BCS, No. 4 AP) in their first Sugar Bowl game against Florida. Quinn has been one of Kelly's assistants for 22 years, moving with him from Grand Valley State to Central Michigan and Cincinnati.
The 47-year-old Kelly was 34-6 in three seasons at Cincinnati, leading the Bearcats to back-to-back Big East titles and two straight Bowl Championship Series berths. The Bearcats set a school record last season for victories with an 11-3 record, then topped that with a 12-0 mark this season.
Players had assumed from Kelly's statements to the team last week that he was staying in Cincinnati.
"I don't like it," Gilyard said before the banquet. "I feel there was a little lying in the thing. I feel like he'd known this the whole time. Everybody knows Notre Dame's got the money. I kind of had a gut feeling he was going to stay just because he told me he was going to be here."
Quarterback Tony Pike said Kelly told them last week, before their title-clinching win over Pittsburgh, that he was happy in Cincinnati.
"The Tuesday when we were practicing for Pittsburgh, he said he loves it here and he loves this team and loves coaching here and his family loves it here," Pike said.

That sucks.
LSU fans/players know how that feels and I feel bad for guys like Gilyard.
Personally, I've been intrigued by Kelly in the past but after his sh*t fit with his kicker last week and the ND situation, I'm glad we're not involved with him.

Urban Meyer's players weren't bad-mouthing him when he left Utah. Gotta bad feeling about this guy.

He's been a college head coach (and winner) for 20 years, and he's just now getting into big boy college football???
Something doesn't add up. He's got some skeletons in his closet that are just waiting to come out.

He didn't quite pull a Saban...he didn't come out on in front of media and camaras blatantly saying " Okay I'll say it now, I'm NOT going to be the next coach at....."
There is nothing wrong with him saying 'I love it here-my family loves it here". it doesn't mean he wouldn't leave. I love it where I live here now in Indiana....doesn't mean I wouldn't move to the Gulf Coast if I had the option to transfer.
His players had to be smarter than that....he tells them how much he loves it there...then he tells them he is going to "listen to what ND had to say...I don't see that as a complete denial to ND!!!!

The bad thing is that these players have busted their arse all year, go undefeated, get into a BCS Bowl, and he won't even be there to coach...I think the NCAA is wrong for allowing this to happen every year to the players...they should move the recruiting signing day and make coaches wait until after all the bowls are played to make decisions...it's only fair to the players...

I think a coach should have to honor his contract or give all the money back that he has made over the years. That is the way to end this type of thing.

Yes, sort of. He did tell his players that he wasn't going anywhere two weeks ago.
Kelly, is very difficult to work and play for from what I hear.

So I guess if Gilyard was going to be the #1 receiver taken in the draft, he would go back to Cini so he wouldn't be letting the team down. He needs to grow up.

Young men welcome to the real world. I'll bet none of those players, if they think they are NFL ready, worry too much abot the HC or team mates that they leave behind.
