frick that. Hes ok but he doesn't need to string the program around to get a raise. We can do better.

Hes already getting paid more than most DCs.

Hope we get rid of Crowton.

Why do fans care how much coaches get paid?

Exactly, don't worry about what he makes, that isn't why you pay so much for your ticket. You would pay that no matter what at a top flight school. He did a great job this year, anyone who can't see that must have amnesia, because our defense was horrible in 2008.

I heard him and Buddy at lunch, and he seemed more clueless about the Chavis situation than he usually is with breaking news on recruits.

Because if they're bitching about Crowton's buyout is too much...you think giving all these coaches pay raises is going to help that? It was genius to give every coach on the staff a pay raise at the beginning of this season. Real genius.

I'm betting they're regretting that now considering they have to pay DJ's salary and now they probably regret having Crowton on staff. Do you want LSU to get in anymore debt while we're at it?

Sounds like he used Georgia to get more money out of us. I don't like that. At all. Hes a solid DC but goddamn...is he going to get another pay raise next year when he flirts with someone else? Sounds like Houston Nutt or Orgeron.

Does he deserve a raise yet?

My only worry is that if he leaves, Miles will frick up and hire a worse replacement.

Les basically talks the admin's into giving everyone so much money they are no longer incentivized to do their best job. I don't like this one bit.

Because about 98% of them aren't worth even half of what they are paid, their salaries are already exorbitant as compared to the average VP or CEO of a company, and alot of them are slimeballs and use extortion tactics to get more money out of the universities with no loyalty whatsoever in return.

1. I sincerely doubt that Chavis asked Richt to make an offer for so that Chavis could get a raise. But if a potential employer makes an offer, how many people would not see if their current employer would match it? Posters think that Chavis should fore go a raise out of loyalty to LSU when LSU would never show him the same loyalty? Give me a fricking break.

2. Before we get in a hurry to get rid of Chavis, we better have someone in mind who is available and interested in the job to replace him. I'm not saying the potential replacement has to be actively seeking work, but you better not be hoping that Saban or Muschamp are looking to come to LSU for a DC position.

LSU can get anyone, for next to nothing, and they will be completely loyal while LSU can fire at will.
