I've said it before and I'll say it again: If Les Miles moves on to Michigan, LSU needs to do whatever it takes to lure Bill Cowher out of retirement. He brings everything to the table that either Gruden or Del Rio does (actually more than Del Rio, IMO), and what's more - he's AVAILABLE.
I hate to say it because I feel the same way, being an avid, over the top LSU fan, because that'd be awesome, but really aren't we being a little delusional here? If anybody from any other fan base saw us saying such things they'd put us in the same category as the Bamer nation for thinking such thoughts. For whatever reason we don't ever seem to the be final destination of great coaches. They always seen to think of us as a ladder to something better. See, Deitzel, Saban for two examples. By contrast that sort of thing never happens to programs like UF, Ohio State, USC, Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State, FSU, etc....

Personally I would give Miles up for DelRio any day!
Of course everyone has their opinions and might think mine is wrong but that is how I feel.

Conventional wisdon would tell us that he is a Michigan man and that his heart is there. But the words "conventional wisdom" and Miles are not always used in the same sentence! Here's hoping.
I would like to know what the contracts of Carr and shios assistants are. THe press siad he basically gets to stay on on some AD function and that the Asst Coaches get to stay 2 yeas after he leaves. I wold like some details on that. That seems to be a situation where Miles might not want to go inot you

If Miles is offered, he will take the job.
Also, Tubby is going to A&M. Book it!

the only snag in the road I see at this point is the assistant coach contracts. Incredibly stupid for UM to even agree to that.

If Miles leaves you guys can have Callahan GO BIG RED

I think if Miles goes, we get tuberville...I think Tommy T is waiting to stick it to the administration at Auburn and this would be the perfect opportunity. It would allow him to kick there arse at least once a year. I think he would be a great fit at LSU. With that being said though, I hope Les stays...
Heres to Les staying!

hanaggriff and gordy were saying it'd have to be done right after the SECCG on their show the other day.

I agree with Hamburgler. Miles leaves...ears is the new LSU coach.

Agree. I think that Les has gotten called stupid and reckless by the media too many times. If he wins the MNC, however, I think they will take a "well, he gets the job done" stance and offer.
Also, the agents of other prospects will likely use the time gap between now and the MNC game or whatever bowl game) as leverage to force an earlier UM decision, and it's very unlikely that Les would cave and give them an early committment.

it wasnt stupid if they thought UM would win the Big Ten, play for the BCSC and Carr would retire after the season on a high note and then promote Ron English to HC.
