Can you imagine the Auburn melt if Lane goes to Bama in 2-3 years?

And you know that’ll happen if he’s having any success at Auburn, the gumps love him. The “little brother” hysteria would be horrific. I’d be tempted not to hire him just to avoid the possibility. Maybe they can cram a special mega-buyout for taking the Bama job into his contract.

And this is an LSU fan speaking from experience. It stung when Saban went to Bama, but at least he went NFL first and then we had Miles’ natty to keep us warm for a while.

Bama has a cycle of one good coach, two shitty coaches that get tossed in glorious fashion.

Not sure how Lane feels about bricks being thrown in his window.

I've heard the buyout for Lane to leave AU for bama is all of Saban's hair dye collection and bama must poison every tree in Tuscaloosa.

So Pete are you predicting either

1. Kiffin sucks - fired with 75M of Yella Fella’s money
2. Kiffin is good - dips with all his best players to Tuscaloosa

Seems to be on brand for his history. Wouldn’t make this all worth it, but I would enjoy the absolute frick out of that.

Auburn and their 3 bars can go eat a bag of toilet paper

According to several Bama posters, Kiffin burned every bridge on the way out, but he's holding out for the Bama job.

Make that make sense if you can.

Only an idiot would take the bama job right after Saban. Lane is not an idiot. There are plenty of jobs out there that will pay well and not have the expectation of following saban.

Unlike Ole Miss, coaches don’t leave Auburn by choice.

Why would Bama hire Kiffin?

Everyone here says he sucks now that AU might be hiring him.

What kind of record do you think Kiffin would have to have at AU over the next 2-3 years for Bama to consider hiring him away?

Do you think they’d consider hiring him now, knowing he’s never won anything of significance? Do you expect that to change in the next 2-3 years?

Auburn too friendly of a bunch. You hand them an 8 figure check and kindly walk them to the door.

If he gets Auburn back to a 10 win season in the next 2-3 years, and maybe sneaks out an Iron Bowl victory, Bama would be all over him when Nick leaves. And they should be. Who else would be a more obvious choice? The only obstacle would be a veto by Nick, but I don’t think the Gumps will let him pick his successor. Nick was the only bridge that was burned.

Why would we melt over an OM coach going to Bama in 2-3 years?

He’s gotta prove he can win big games first. He’s still working on that at ole miss and will have to do that if he jumps to auburn. No matter how much Kiffin wants the job bama won’t touch him unless he’s winning at a high level. He’s winning, just not the biggest games yet.

Nope. Once he goes to Auburn, he's got the Auburn stink on him. No thanks.

That’s what people said about Pat Dye. It’s almost like we are going back to 1980. Bama has an aging legendary coach and we hire a young guy that worked under him.

So Kiffin would throw a brick through his own window like Curry did?

So if he beats Bama & UGa in 2025, and gets AU in the 12-team CFP, you think we will let him walk to our instate rival? When we wouldn’t even let Gustav walk to fricking Arky when he beat them both in 2017?

*Bama HAD a pattern. We had one great coach for 25 years, 2 shitty for 7 years, one great championship coach for 7 years, then 2 shitty for 8, then one great for 15+ years.

I think the pattern has been broken by the nearly 2 decades of consistency.
