Where in Woodward’s hiring history makes you think he won’t land his top guy? Just sit back and enjoy

How long ago was the baseball hire. I think hits pretty well known that he went after Tim Corbin the hardest . O’Sullivan wasn’t cleared by lsu so I don’t count him or Casey.

I think he missed on Corbin though

Logic and common Sense leads me to believe it will be Napier as well. Riley and Jimbo have no reason to leave where they're currently at to come to LSU. It would just be illogical for them to leave Texas or Oklahoma at this time for LSU. Tucker just signed a new contract and appears uninterested in the LSU job
. Common sense would say that Aranda doesn't have the personality to be head coach at a major SEC program like LSU. That leaves Napier as the best all-around fit of the remaining possible candidates

You mean other than for the fact that our last three coaches all won national championships within three years of their arrival and being closer to some of the best recruiting available (with no in-state competition) to a college football coach anywhere?

Seems like Napier to LSU rumors over the past 2 weeks have really faded...

I know right

And woody settled for a guy that brought with him a future top 10 draft pick and signed the No. 1 recruiting class in the country in less than 6 months

Woody sucks at this hiring thing

personally i think napier is the floor and i think it comes down to aranda and napier. i think aranda chooses to stay or goes USC, leaving napier as the default after riley, jimbo, rhule, fickel all turn it down.

Riley is also bringing in a top 3-5 class and already has the number 1 class in 2023. Jimbo is way more likely to leave

OU is way more likely to lose a coach than A&M.

Tucker is not a home run. More like a foul ball.

If you can’t loosten one of these big names then Napier is a really good fall back option

OU has had 3 NC winning coaches, and only 6 coaches since 1973…do you know how many of them have been taken away by another program? Zero. /thread

Why fire Orgeron and make a meh move like hiring an unproven like Napier? That makes zero sense.

I want Riley, but hell no to Jimbo. However, I doubt either of them comes. In the end, maybe Napier is the best of the three. He is young, well respected, well spoken, and can lead LSU for a long long time. Waiting for him to get experience at another P5 school is stupid as we may never get a chance to hire him. If Riley is a NO, then we should jump on Napier. High ceiling, low floor, but worth the risk.
