Sean Payton didn’t leave for no reason. He has no QB. You can’t win without a QB. There isn’t a coach out there who could win with this team. Dennis Allen is doing the best with what he’s got

Dennis Allen is a really good DC. Terrible head coach. He sucked with the Raiders, he sucks with the Saints. Maybe the organization is finally deciding to blow it up and tank for the future

He was saddled with a journeyman QB and a mid-career guy with an apparent high upside that may have been unrealized or that may have been more imagined than real. He also had a relatively untested guy who ended up being not so good. His last season was the only one with anyone who was a young QB with potential.

Fast forward to the Saints and what does he have at QB? A journeyman QB and a mid-career guy with an apparent high upside that may have been unrealized or that may have been more imagined than real.

I'm not saying he is a good head coach, just that he has been put in a position to fail twice now.

I agree and let's not forget he actually tried to fix this by going hard (pun intended) for Watson. He knew what he had and tried to remedy it. I respect that and I'm willing to give him another year. I do think he needs to relinquish play calling duties though. It's clearly suffered due to his added gameday responsibilities. The sharp decline in defense is more concerning than the offense. We already knew the offense was average at best.
