Cam to LSU > Weis to UF ?

The Weis to UF hire has been heralded as a huge pick up for the Gators. Although I think it will be interesting seeing Weis adapt his scheme to guys like Burton, I too think the hire was a homerun. If LSU was able to attract Cam Cameron, would that hire upstage Weis? In this board's opinion, would hiring Cameron have a bigger impact on the SEC than Weis?

So you believe LSU will not be able to stay with UF in terms of offense because Cam Cameron is inferior to Charlie Weis as an offensive coordinator?

I disagree. Under Weis, the offense was never the problem at Notre Dame. Also, the offense was pretty decent at KC this year. Had Miles hired Weis as our OC, I would be thrilled.

Weis did not set the world on fire at ND. He was great with Brady but who not be???

actually besides the year clausen was freshmen, notre dames offense were consistently in the top 10/20 in the country. the offense was never the problem for ND.

it's a wash, both are excellent o.c.'s that have performed well at both levels. one isn't greater than the other. they are both very good.

We just need someone who can run an effective offense that is consistent. If you consider that a team, on average, has the ball 10 times per game and should average around 65-70 plays per game, if we can average 6-7 yards per play and score on half our possessions, that's 35 ppg and about 400 yards per game. If we can do that, with our defense, we'll be really hard to beat. So, we aren't talking about having to be perfect and score a touchdown every play. Just be consistent and execute well with the athletes we have. That's what I'm looking for.

Ummm...during Jimmy's sophomore season, the Notre Dame offense was held to 7 points on the road at MSU, zero points on the road at BC and 3 points on the road at USC.

But with the immense amount of talent that we recruit on the offensive side of the ball, why settle for 35 points and 400 yards of offense?
This team should be about where we were in 2007 (40 pts and 425 yards), year in and year out.

his rankings are all over the map, theres nothing consistent about them, even though notre dame only plays 2 or 3 good teams a year.
(note - in 2007, because of a few ties, he was actually second to last and dead last in the NCAA)

Weis is a filthy animal with a disgusting FUPA but he is a good OC. He is really improved KC this year.
