would make a better head coach than OC.

Likes to recruit and can actually recruit, believes in discipline, hands on in practice, didn't want Jamarcus to play at all in Cap One Bowl,

mouthed off in practice to Jimbo, got tossed out of practice. Couldn't play in game. Finally late in game, Saban sent him in cuz we were losing, Jimbo didn't want him to play at all and its hard to fault Jimbo.

I think FSU is going to have a serious case of buyer's remorse by Year 2, and Jimbo is gone after Year 4. Just my prediction.

I have no idea about an HC....
time will tell..
but I was never a fan of Jimbo.

if his game plan worked,
he looked like a genius

if his game plan did not work,
he continued to force the issue
until the game was over.

I HATE his screens ...always to a man standing still,(behind the line) which negates SPEED, he would never throw a screen to a man running or to a slant...
it would drive me nuts.

I saw him do a couple of new things at FSU

If he focuses on player development and recruiting and lets someone else call the plays, you may be onto something.

Jimbo was OC at Auburn during their undefeated season. He was the OC at LSU during the BCSCC season. During all this time no one except UAB has offered him the position of HC.

Why?

Probably because he wears his hat like Gomer Pile.

um, I'm pretty sure Jimbo was at LSU in 2004 (Auburn's 14-0 season). In fact, he led us to a stellar 3 point output in a loss at Auburn that year.

Almost. In 2004, we scored 9. That was the 10-9 year when Auburn got to re-kick the extra point because of the penalty that was only called once in the history of football.

He was probably talking about Auburn's undefeated season in 1993, when they couldn't go to a bowl because of probation. Jimbo was also the QB coach during that season, not the OC.

"if his game plan did not work,

kind of like this coaching staff.

Did LSU's offense ever drop below 100 in the NCAA while he was OC?

I've always been impressed listening to Jimbo Fisher talk and have always felt he was well polished. Jimbo has an impressive resume, he is a good recruiter, he has coached around alot of good coaches, been in big ball games, and just seems like a safe hire IMO. We can talk about play calling all night but I feel he will be "Bowden" like and play the CEO role. I think Fisher knows HC's get in alot of trouble by taking the reigns of either side of ball. Thats not to say Fisher wont be involved in the offensive.

He certainly sounds impressive. I think his biggest problem is that he is creative, yet very predictable. I loved the way we would run WR screens, but you can only call those so many times a game before defenses adjust. But his offenses were always sound, and for the most part, got the ball into our playmaker's hands.

Jimbo is a great guy who is a little too country. Makes better sentences than Les, but needs to improve his speech for a HC. Maybe he has. HC is all about PR.
