Not a lawyer, but does it mean nothing that LSU and Denbrock agreed to a contract even though the BOS can't approve it yet? Is that not binding at all? If not, what's to stop schools/coordinators from shopping around after a verbal agreement to a contract extension now that all the cards are on the table?

It’s not an uncommon thing. Verbal agreements can be nuanced, but I think LA tries to protect them pretty easily.

Okay then we promote Sloan. Not the end of the world.

Or hire Rees away from Saban.

God no

We don’t want Rees.

Sloan would be a better choice if Denbrock leaves

Well a large portion of LSU fans on this board didn’t want him and then wanted him fired last year. Guess they may get their wish.

I don’t see ND out paying us, almost no one pays like we do for assistants.

However like pointed out split on him leaving. I wasn’t 100 percent behind the hire thought he was too old and our O looked bad most of the prior year. This year was great but if we keep Sloan as new OC that could continue.

Nuclear melt would be Denbrock leaving, Sloan making a lateral move with him and House staying and Rees becoming our OC

Denbrock gets a lot of criticism for last year, but a huge pet of the issues last year were on Daniels’ refusal to let the ball rip. Once he got that fixed, you saw the Denbrock offense run like clockwork.

I think he gets a lot of hate for last year and it is unjustified. Hope he stays because I think he’s a really good coach.

Unfortunately, the talk started before today. It just came from major outlets today.

This. If Denbrock leaves, this probably helps you hold onto Sloan longer.

If you didn’t watch Nuss’ press conference interview, go back and check out what he has to say about Sloan. It’s clear he has really connected with these QBs, both on and off the field.

he will be gone well before february though. LSU must have thought they were in the clear after holding off aggy.

Being mentioned for 2 jobs within weeks of each other certainly sounds like he doesn’t want to be here

At Denbrock’s age his stock may never be higher than it is right now as an OC. I’d say he just has a good agent that’s testing the free market right now. If he gets a better offer he will take it. Kelly has a huge hand in our offensive game planning, so I don’t think a whole lot will change on that side of the ball. You probably make Sloan a Co-OC with another hot up and comer.

Kent State is looking for a new football head coach. It is believed that Nick Saban, a former Defensive Back there, wants to finish his coaching career in Kent, Ohio and bring them their 1st CFB NC.

I do believe that. Look, now there are multiple sources that believe that.
