This is looking like a legitimate possibility.

Looks like it would be the LSU BOS fault if we lose him….

His contract will get approved. I can’t recall a time when we ever had one not approved.

It’s not about it getting approved, it’s the time it is taking to get it done. If he negotiates a new deal with Notre Dame while he has a low buyout and before signing with LSU he is basically gone.

he will be gone well before february though. LSU must have thought they were in the clear after holding off aggy.

ND would have to pay him what we are going to.

If we agreed to a deal on Dec 6th probably practically no way to get that approved officially by the board two days later. I’m sure ND works the same way. The BOS meetings happen on a schedule.

FWIW losing Denbrock before firing house would cause a lot of lost faith in BK, not that it matters since Scott is such a clown with contracts.

Okay then we promote Sloan. Not the end of the world.

Sloan has done very well. He's been outstanding with JD's development and is #6 in CFB recruiting.

He had some co-OC and OC experience at LA Tech, but only a few years. We definitely need to do whatever it takes to keep him, but OC would be risky with his limited experience.

False, it was agreed to in principle on the 6th, believe it or not a day and a half is not enough time to have everything drawn up for the BOS meeting on the 8th.

Of course it will but by that time it won’t mean shite if he leaves before. He has zero buyout right now right? Since he hasn’t signed anything?

Are they going to have to pay what we paid? If his family wants to go back there then I bet he would take a pay cut if it’s close to the amount we offered.

Exactly he’s not ready to be an OC, plus losing Denbrock what does that do to Underwood.

This may secretly be great for us. Before JD started balling out I had serious issues with Denbrock.
In my mind Denbrock has never proven anything here yet except for JD being so mobile and learning a great deep ball.

Mike Denbrock and LSU agreed on a contract extension Dec. 6. All contracts must be approved by the BOS, which met two days later, Dec. 8. Denbrock's deal, however, was not on the agenda. The next LSU BOS meeting is Feb 23 when, presumably, the extension would be approved.

Oh I would MELT melt if this happens.

Not a lawyer, but does it mean nothing that LSU and Denbrock agreed to a contract even though the BOS can't approve it yet? Is that not binding at all? If not, what's to stop schools/coordinators from shopping around after a verbal agreement to a contract extension now that all the cards are on the table?

Sloan is his primary. Listen to Nuss talk about Sloan. He can't stop praising him for helping him develop. Losing Denbrock probably wouldn't effect Underwood. Losing Sloan might.

Sure he is. If we don't make him one soon, somebody else will.

I'd be very surprised if Underwood doesn't have a much better relationship with Sloan than Denbrock. Sloan leaving would probably jeopardize getting Underwood more than Denbrock.
