Purdue is "where he wants to be"... but Louisville will give him more money.

No coach wants to be at Purdue long term.

Word is Brohm was less impressed what Louisville offered him. Sounds like it is nowhere near what Purdue is about to give him.
Sounds like they are looking at App State and Syracuse coach.

Purdue fans are starved for a good football program.
Boilermakers will throw money at Brohm, especially after that OSU win

I heard this as well. I'm not that nervous. Has a good foundation and a hell of a class coming in. If he bolted to Louisville his rebuild might be an even tougher one than he undertook at Purdue.
Walking away from Moore and the 3 stud WRs we have coming in would be foolish. UL can't pay him more and it looks like they don't even want to.
I get its home for him...but he's building a career and will eventually get MUCH better offers than Louisville. I don't even think for what it offers that its a lateral move from Purdue. Definitely worse at this point with the need of a full rebuild for not just FB but the entire AD. Not offering $6+Mil is a mistake for them if he was the guy they really wanted. Heard we offered $4.5M for next year and were willing to match up to $5M

I hope Purdue keeps him. I've been annoyed by all of the Louisville fans just assuming they're getting Brohm without much effort for the last month. And it sounds like that's what the administration thought as well if they offered something he wasn't impressed with. They're going to shite when he turns them down.

I don't really follow news out of Louisville, but didn't they have to have a donor kick in money to get rid of Petrino? Maybe they don't have enough to offer Brohm what he would want.

Plus, I'd like to see Purdue be a regular bowl team again. They had some solid units under Tiller (Brees, Orton, etc.) and Brohm is their best shot for that.

The University of Louisville’s football recruits in the class of 2019 have been given the impression Jeff Brohm will be named the school’s next head coach, according to three sources. Recruits in touch with Louisville coaches say they’re hearing a range of insights on Brohm, from hoping to expecting he will become the head coach. Quarterback recruit Jaden Johnson, from Memphis, Tennessee, said it’s “more than likely” Brohm will be Louisville’s replacement for Bobby Petrino. He added that athletic director Vince Tyra has kept him in the loop on his coaching search.

Since 2010 Purdue has won 33 games. Louisville has won 73 games. Purdue went to 3 bowl games during that timespan. Louisville has been to 8, including a Sugar Bowl victory over Florida. Purdue was the better job a couple decades ago, but no, it is not a lateral move

Why does the past matter in this?
Why doesn't the present, where Brohm has his recruits coming into a pretty solid foundation?
If he goes, its because its his Alma mater. That's it. I wouldn't blame him if he goes but his ceiling for success isn't higher there.

Today figures to be big one for #Purdue and #Louisville. Jeff Brohm met with Cardinals AD Vince Tyra about their HC vacancy yesterday. Folks inside Purdue felt good over the weekend about the prospects of Brohm staying. We'll find out soon.

The fact that this hasn't been announced yet, leads me to believe he's staying at Purdue. If he were all in on Louisville, he would have been announced on Sunday.

Brohm wants to stay at Purdue and is torn...but getting too much pressure from family, former teammates, and the town of the Louisville. If it is not announced by today, word is he is staying at Purdue.

It all comes down to whether Brohm wants to be the coach at Louisville or if he wants to be an elite coach. He won't likely be able to be both.
If he goes home to Louisville, he will probably never leave until he is either fired or retired. It's one thing to get to go home, it is another thing to go home, build a better resume and then leave. He can stay at Purdue, average 7.5 wins for 6-10 years and probably write his own ticket at a top-15 or better football factory. There are jobs in the same recruiting field that Purdue is in that will be open in the next decade or less. Jobs like Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Penn State.

You can only go home once usually in college. And young guy like Brohm could always go back if it doesn’t work at a big program, but it won’t work in the reverse order.
Look at Kliff and rich rod are two examples of that
