Not saying it’ll ever happen, but Frank Wilson did.

ETA: downvoters obviously don’t remember or didn’t know Frank Wilson was the head coach of McNeese before coming back to LSU. He didn’t get fired by McNeese. He left McNeese for LSU voluntarily.

Frank Wilson Resigns at McNeese

Frank got fired at UTSA

Aranda hasn’t been fired yet from Baylor, but likely will be after next season.

No. Hell no man.
Aranda was instrumental in 2019’s success as a DC here. We don’t like retreads even if they went undefeated and set records here and all. Broyles award and all that bs.

Give us a guy that’s never been here before!!

Ah yes true but it’s McNeese not Baylor, a major university in a “Power 5” conference

if you cant see the difference in leaving McNeese compared to a power 5 job like Baylor then I don’t know what to tell you. Just look at the pay man.

He's essentially a dead man walking. All the signs point to him being given one year, like Coach O. And he seems to have been strongarmed into firing his OC and defacto demoting his DC. Aranda wasn't successful as just the head coach, but now he's going to be the head coach AND the defensive coordinator? No OC worth his salt is going to walk into that. Aranda's going to be left with a Jake Peetz-type hire. Further, it looks like Baylor is ranked 63 in recruiting with only 3 stars signed.

If LSU offered Aranda, he'd have to seriously consider accepting an offer in lieu of a likely forced resignation/termination next season.

quote:

Baylor coach Dave Aranda will return to coach the Bears in 2024 but without offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes, sources told ESPN on Sunday.

The decision came after the culmination of multiple meetings with school officials following a 3-9 season, and there's a belief in a viable path forward for Aranda and Baylor despite recent results, sources told ESPN.

Aranda's return comes with significant changes on and off the field, including the dismissal of Grimes, sources told ESPN.

Matt Powledge will keep the defensive coordinator title, but he will no longer be calling plays on that side of the ball, sources told ESPN. Aranda is expected to call the defensive plays

Are you a fricking retard? Aranda is a head coach at Baylor, why would he take a step back?
