Who the frick is brian jones?

he played LB or DE or something at UCLA, then here at Texas...played for the Saints, and maybe the Colts? I dont think he had much of a NFL shelf life

anyway, he started back up here on sports talk radio, about 8 or 9 years ago, and then moved onto CBS sports, he's been there for a few years now I guess

basically, all his buddies that he worked with years ago are still on the air, so he calls in all the time with his bullshite....like I said, he's just a talking head, dont put much stock in his rants

Interesting. He was on Finebaum yesterday almost laughing at the idea that Saban was leaving. Assuming he is credible, that is the complete opposite of what he said yesterday and is concerning for the Saban stays crowd.

I'm sure Saban is ready to go but Mrs. Saban simply doesn't want to leave the cosmopolitan utopia of metro-Tuscaloosa.

I'd guess, if anything, it's the opposite. With that being said, the only place the Sabans are going is to Bear Bryant bank with a fat Alabama appreciation check.

Down vote.

Right - that was Sexton's final play in 2004, right before he got Miami's final offer.

These people jumping on the "I know what he's thinking about doing" bandwagon are hilarious. Everyone has a source, right?

Like Saban has time to give minute to minute updates on what he's thinking about doing. I'm pretty sure he works 14-15hr days. I imagine he isn't talking on the phone to former assistant coaches telling them what he is or isn't going to do...and in fact, judging by his press conference...I'd say he would probably get pretty pissed off at people asking him those type of questions.

Yeah. There are a ton of people who believe it is a done deal and has been for weeks. The "just to rile them up" excuse is gone now.

Should have seen the thread during the podcast.

Nothing this big is simple. Nothing is "done" until it's done.

Saban never takes a buyout, or at least not a significant one. He has a classic strategy to these negotiations - he can leave at any time. If you don't like that, he can leave now. So, give him the years and dollars he wants, and he'll try to be happy...for now.

But, he's never happy. He cannot enjoy his success. I worked for a guy just like that - another short little angry man (this one from Canada) - has had more money than he needed since his late 30s. Many of you have seen him on television. Kind of sad, actually.

Heres the reality of the situation,

Everyone at bama has been bamboozled by this guy so long

Going to be tough for them when reality sets in

Only time and a new corch will heal the butthurt

No man, however should be bigger than the program

Even Jimmy Johnson got replaced

They are just looking for a way to spin the Wall Street Journal article, which should never have happened. Nick wasn't quoted, his wife was. We don't want Terry to be labeled a liar.

Frankly, no one will care what Terry said or didn't say. She gets a free pass regardless of how involved she is. Call it a wife's immunity.

Meh, I missed it.

If the debt stuff is real, he's gone. If it's all BS, he stays. Whose to know what is and isn't real right now.
