He will be paid nicely by Nebrasca. So money is not an issue for him.
If he does well in hometown school under Jim Tressel. He will get another chance in P5 school.
There is no point to go to a P5 school now to work hard and save money for Nebrasca. Or worse get fired three years later in the new P5 school.

Not a bad move IMO.
He loves the place and has a history there. He will be very comfortable.
He won't be hurting for money by any means.
He will still be a HC.
If he wins there (and he most likely will) top FBS schools will come after him again in 3 years tops to be their HC. He is biding his time being a HC at a place that he loves until a job that he can't refuse comes calling.

I believe his contract with Nebraska said that he had to put forth an effort to get another job to get his full buyout. Bet this contract had a nice pay bump in about 2 years.

I think it's a good move. Going back home, he'll knock it out of the park for 2 or 3 years, and he'll land a job not far from a Nebraska status. Long term...it's a good move. Plus Nebraska is still paying him. #GoodMoveBo

He is waiting. Instead of being a coordinator and wait, he's going to be the man at a smaller place and wait. Wont be long.

Maybe, but getting a DC job would not have shown that he had matured in the alumni relations department. Yeah, he wasn't winning as much as Nebraska wanted, but being an a$$hole while doing it wasn't helping him at all. Some time under Tressel will help him in this department more than another turn as DC.

Smart move by him. Move down in the ranks, hone in on what went wrong at Nebraska and improve that with the help of a coach like Tressel. Being close to family is very nice too.

He needs to step away from the limelight a bit and learn how not to piss off a fan base. Maybe he can learn something from the AD.

The AD at Youngstown has pissed a lot of people off since 2010. He had to clean house and rebuild the department. While doing it the fans think they're not trying to win.
