This thread is to try to figure out what his strong attributes are and why he would be a great head coach for the fighting tigers of LSU … the greatest university in the country.

List why you think he would be a great tiger

I would be able to spend my fall saturdays checked out and with zero stress about games. Because I wouldn't care anymore.

His hiring would enable me to spend more time on home improvement projects and the cultivation of new hobbies on Saturdays

If he weren't an a-hole and a racist, he'd be a solid coach.

O'Brien has no positive attributes. He's dick headed megalomaniac that single handedly destroyed an NFL franchise. Woodward would have to be the biggest idiot on the planet to hire O'Brien, because O'Brien would come after Woodward's job in short order.

I will preface this by saying that i don't want Bill O'Brien at all and will be pissed if he's the hire.

But Bill O'Brien DID do an absolutely incredible job turning around Penn State after they got slammed for the Sandusky thing. That turn-around was legitimately one of the highest degree-of-difficulty successes in college football history.

And second, he was actually pretty good as a coach for the Texans. It was his moves as a GM that made him a complete joke. But purely as a coach, he was pretty solid for most of his time there.

Now, it's obviously relevant that being a college HC involves a lot of the roster management stuff at which he sucked arse for Houston... but it is at least somewhat of a different beast, given the salary cap and draft picks and all that stuff (which is where he tended to frick up). He managed his rosters to absolute perfection at Penn State, and you'd be pretty hard pressed to argue otherwise, given the extreme disadvantage they were at.

Anyway, I'm nearly certain this will get downvoted just because people don't wanna hear anyone say a good thing about BoB, so I'll reiterate once more that i would be furious if he was the hire. But these are the positive attributes.

Edit: lol this board is so goddamn predictable it's legitimately hilarious

He had a loaded roster with the Texans that he didn’t build himself and proceeded to consistently barely make the playoffs before losing in the first round. So that was very… mediocre of him.

His offense rushed a total of 6 yards on a 4-4 (now 4-6) LSU. He’ll be a great tiger and we will love him even more if he stays at AL.

In the worst division in the NFL for most of that time too.
