His trade for Tunsil was just as stupid.

BOB is a fricking joke.

Actually, much prefer a successful college coach.

It's still a whole different animal. Especially when it comes to recruiting.

BOB gets way too much credit for Penn St. I don't care what he did in the NFL. Some of the best college coaches failed in the NFL. The fact he was successful in the NFL is irrelevant to me.

They just weren’t decimated. They last a slightly above average number of transfers but only 2-3 starters and he was gone before they started to realy feel the hurt of the sanctions.

And he wasn’t that good there.

Exactly. He gets ridiculous credit for it. Must be a sweet job to lose 9 games in 2 seasons and be considered incredible. More coaches should sign up for it. And he did it in the Big 10. How was the conference overall back then? Were they all world beaters?

I also feel like the fan base would be even less patient with a guy like BOB that most cannot stand. I think he would be a huge mistake. Not sure how he would appeal to recruits.

I have a very hard time believing he would do well recruiting.

Highly unlikeable guy.

Texans fan hate him. Players don't like him.

It's not like they were sad to see him go, so it's not out of spite. He's just an unlikeable douche with some of the worst personnel decisions in the history of the NFL.

Seriously, the Deandre Hopkins trade alone should get him a lifetime ban from football.

You want someone that was that stupid to make roster decisions?

What 17 year old is going to be like, oh yeah, can't wait to line up for this guy. He has no skins on the wall like Saban.

He's just a dick who can't judge talent.

100%. Many of our important recruits come from the Houston and Texas area. I am sure he is not well liked around those parts.

Don't care about cheap, I want someone that wins

Coach O would have done a better job at the Texans.

Well, there are a lot more gas stations in Houston.

I agree with you on Franklin, don’t want

I like Riley, Kiffin, Napier, Aranda, Campbell

I understand your point about BOB, and he probably is more qualified than others, but I still don’t BOB. It “feels” like a dud hire.

And the reality is we have a huge alumni base in Houston and a BOB would alienate that portion of the fanbase, whether they’re right to hate him or not

Ftr, I agree with you snd he would be behind all the ones you listed for me.

This thread was more to show that our fans have a bad issue separating emotion from this hire and it was to throw a name out that I think most assume based on emotion was absolutely terrible in the nfl when he wasn't. Our fans clamor for a coach with all kinds of experience yet nfl experience suddenly isn't good enough. It's kind of like the ones that don't want Riley, simple emotional response.

Bob isn't a bad coach and did good in the nfl. The gm stiff really wasn't him making those decisions.

And ftr he would be about #5 or 6 for me. But he isn't nearly as bad as people make him out to be. I had forgotten how well he had done with Texans.

As far as the gm thing and fans hating him...again emotion, pure emotion.

BoB is a monstrous douche. Think of Saban and Belichick x 2 without the results. Open Warfare would exist between BoB and the fan base in no time.

If you think O lost the locker room, bring this guy in and see what happens.

Dude completely gutted the roster and future picks in less than a year.

Honestly, it was so bad it was if he was tanking.

He's a complete clown. After LSU's first inexcusable loss when he gets all pissy, fans would be egging his house.

He's the absolute worst candidate for a college job in the South.

Terrible fit for LSU's current culture problems. They'd quit on him first week of practice.

He is very very arrogant and power hungry. You have to wonder why a guy like that would even want to be a GM with his qualifications. You trade Clowney and Hopkins for what you got back and it was obvious he literally attempted to destroy the Texans on his way out. Not to mention his offenses were inconsistent and he hendured Deshaun's developement
