Based on recruits shouting out to coaches, I think Baker and Jones are staying.

Wouldn't be bad at all to retain Daronte in some capacity. He's still somewhat of a gamble but I think he's got a bright future ahead of him regardless of where he lands.
One must look no farther than the Bama game and the completely depleted defensive roster LSU fielded against them, to see what he can do once people get out the way and let him do his job.

Jones was a DB coach in the NFL .. maybe have him coach DBs and give him the title of defensive passing game coordinator

Not necessarily, LSU owes him a buyout if they break his contract. He may be waiting on that.

LSU could also pay him more than SMU to stay here if they really want to keep him. He could get an offer for a better gig if he turns in another year with our LBs as good as this one.
That may not be enough, or BK may not want to retain him, but it’s still possible.

Recruits routinely post pics and words of thanks when coaches visit.

The fact that decisions have already been made and announced on other coaches who are not staying, makes this relevant.

With Baker? You seemed pretty confident about him getting the SMU DC job. Why would he be waiting for a buyout from LSU to take that job? The buyout will get offset by the SMU salary. He's making $500k at LSU. I have to think DC at SMU pay is similar.

The only two being talked about that were going to remain on staff were those two. Everybody else had a target on their back.
