I don't think you will have to worry about him going to USC. How did JDR become a possible candidate for LSU when you thought Miles was leaving?

He had interest when we hired Miles 3 yrs ago, long story short timing killed this possibility,he played for Saints wife from La. and daughters went to LSU.

Michigan would have to offer ~2.6+1.25 buyout =~3.85 for year one. I don't see this happening. And if he wins the NC, make that ~3.5+1.25=4.75

Agreed but considering it is the University of Michigan and the support they have from their Alumni. I dont think this amount is too difficult for them to pony up. Now whether they want to or not is a different question. It is possible though.

Yup, but then what has Miles done so far for us not to believe in what he said. From what I can see there is no reason for us to not believe him. So I would have to say I am sticking with his word until proven otherwise...

I believe Miles will be staying if Michigan stays the present course. However, if they do an about face, and start aggressively going after Miles i'd say all bets are off.

As much as I think Miles deserves more respect for the job he has done at LSU if I were Michigan I would still not be confident Miles could do the same up there. Spending that kind of money at LSU for Miles could be considered a reward, but Michigan would be risking alot for potential alone.

I think he would do fine for two reasons.

1. he hires good staff. That alone is half the battle.

2. recruiting. He'll recruit speed there. Look at Zook at Illionois. He'll do the same thing.

His wife is native Louisiana and his daughter goes to LSU. He tried to meet with LSU 3 years ago but got caught (didn't ask Weaver for permission). Trust me, this talk is on the radio in Jax.
