re: Article on Michigan search...

I'm no soothsayer, believe me. I am not an expert analyst or a college football pundit. I am not a reporter who's got the inside track on the college football coaching carousel.

I am a devoted LSU fan trying to remain positive while this UM coaching search, which started as an eddy, grows into a full blown twister.

With that said, I have had "feelings" before that turned out to be fairly accurate. Kentucky, Arkansas, e.g. Ever since Mon, Dec. 3 when I heard Miles interviewed by Mike and Mike, I have had an uneasy feeling. Something didn't sit right after hearing Miles talk.

Hold on, before you go ape on me, I believe this man has integrity that is of the rarest kind these days. But this is not about that.

This is about the chain of events that have been occurring since Dec. 1. Some people believe that destiny is a predetermined thing. That may be true, but the path to that destiny might not be so clear. As events unfold it might seem that one is headed for a certain destiny but in fact, it may have always been some other destiny.

I read the same article that Rocket read and quoted here. My initial reaction is that what I've been feeling all along about this coaching search is probably going on behind the scenes. Regardless of what Miles says about his place here at LSU, I'm sure that he truly would rather be at Michigan. It all might be just a matter of how the chips fall over the next few days and weeks. If the timing works out, and events play out positively for all parties involved (national title, recruiting, dead periods, etc.) then it is very possible that Miles gets his dream, we get ours (NC), Pelini gets his, etc.

Just think about it: all of you are crazy about LSU (or I don't think you'd be here;) really put some thought into placing yourself in Miles shoes; you have a chance to go home, and to go home doing what you love. Surrounded by family, friends, and fellow alumni at the place you love best. Regardless of the money.

I, for one, who by current familial circumstances can't go home, would jump at any possible opportunity outside of that to get BACK HOME. No offer of money could stop me, nor could other people's opnions of me prevent that from happening.

Until UM chooses someone that isn't LM, he is as easily gone as he was two weeks ago.
