re: Offensive line concerns..

And we will be young at other positions next year. You can use the youth excuse every year. Eventually it will get old.
8-4. I think we beat om but lose to either arky or auburn.

Personally I can't wait for this man's tenure to end. The defensive scheme is garbage and if he can't see it he is an idiot. Great, Great recruiter, not so good of a coach
Blitz does you know good when you don't disguise it. It also helps to fake the blitz some time just to keep the o thinking. We do neither.
Well at least the d never looked confused. Contrary to most I think the linebackers and d bs played pretty good. McCray is still a liability and good teams will find a way to eat his lunch. I think he needs to move to lb and possibly back up Coleman The d line with the exception of Nevis and the scheme were absolutely horrible. Two things 1) Miles needs to let some of these young studs play (Baker never saw the field and downs didn't see it enough) and 2) the scheme has to be fixed. Its the same horrible crap we have seen since the second half of 2007. Too much soft zone and no disguising of blitzes. Jefferson and the O looked good when we opened it up. For some reason Miles still thinks we can force chuck scott up the middle. I don't think our O line is terrible but they are not good enough to just line up and pound it. In the end this game was very dissapointing. I expected us to be light years ahead of where we were last year and quite frankly we aren't. At this point I thinks apparent to anyone who can take off the purple and gold lenses for a few seconds that Les Miles is not worth four mil a year. Great Man, Great Recruiter, but not that great of a coach . Time management and personel management has been very bad his entire tenure and its finally starting to catch up to him. This is an 8-4 team and with the talent we have assembled that is not going to cut it.

I am a personally a little frustrated with our defensive coaches. We play excellent d against more traditional offenses but when teams spread us out they continue to eat our lunch. Thankfully we have enought talent prevent any major meltdowns. Every week we are told its all because of breakdowns or mistakes. I think the scheme needs adjusting. Maybe more blitzes, maybe more dime but it needs tweaking.

This thread is the reason these analyst continue to make ignorant and pointless comments. They know it will stir the pot.

re: Two Questions regarding our defense

No doubt McCray on a reciever down field is a mismatch. but having him underneath on runningbacks, tight ends, and recievers on slant routes would be better than any of our backers. I also think the lack beckwith is killing us as far as getting us in the right defense.
Ever since the south carolina game last year teams have spreading us out then cutting us up in the middle of the field with the short inside routs. the problem is not the secondary its the backers. I am little dissappointed the defensive coaches have stuck with "its breakdowns or bad execution" when truth be told its mismatches. My two cents: with dbs like jones and mccray who are almost as big as lb's and can stop the run why not go with the six dbs.

I think Mack is either a) extremely arogant or b) extremely lazy when it comes to recruiting.

JustSmokin is right

SEC games = LSU can wear white at home and there is nothing the visiting team can do

Non-Conference games= Other team must allow lsu to wear white.

any chance of a possible holdout for a nfl coach? I don't know of any possible nfl candidates still coaching.

Kevin Stallings is one of if not the best coach in the league. I would make every effort to get him then i would look to either kennedy or grant. i can't see creen, calipari, or even tim floyd leaving their jobs for lsu. another unkown name is mark fox at nevada.

Those were two pretty terrible situations he was in. I don't think he is a world beater but it seams his style is in line with what the fat one likes to do.
What about dan werner from ole miss?

I heard that call as well, and I remember him sayin gthat it was used specifically for protection purposes because our deep snapper does not get the ball back fast enough.

I remember the call myself but i thought he said we did because the deep snapper had trouble blocking out of the old method. All I know is in 2005 we ran the conventional formation and we had top five punt coverage. now we have crap.

funny. somehow you bammer heads seem to think the cheating that got you on probation is what made you so good in the first place.
I know i will get flamed for this but i can't really blame herbie either. he was practically forced to run that report by his producers. they are the ones who should issue an apology. the only on tv. personalities that owe les an apology are skip bayliss and mitch albom. their character assassinations were classless and unprofessional.
