What are the chances we did offer and these guys are declining because we’re not paying our DC worth a shite after Pelini and the COVID revenue losses?

I believe we offered Freeman $2 mill or really high. I 100% believe we are not offering another candidate the same amount nor should we.

O fricked is hiring Pelini and Linehan.

He now deserves to to face consequences.

At least we didn’t hire him and O and him get in a fist fight four weeks into the season and we limp to a meh record.

he is 34. I watched his PC before LSU game

ok guy, was praising LSU's talent

but overall, I couldn't see paying this guy the kind of money LSU is talking about for a DC

Then how come Bo Pelini got that kind of money for being a DC?

Why? What does it hurt to browse and haggle? If it’s not worth it it’s not worth it but until you talk you don’t know what kind of deal could be had.

It is sort of funny how everyone assumes that multiple coaches aren't being considered just because only a few names get mentioned.

Anytime you hire someone, you cast a wide net and sort through it.

Scott Woodard manages a multi-million dollar budget. Why do so many presume he wouldn't be at least as thorough as someone hiring night managers at 7-11?

I don’t think we would have bothered with Arnett then, knowing he has a buyout attached.

ETA, since you said “guys,” it’s all but confirmed that we offered Freeman MORE money than Notre Dame.

I 100% believe you will end up being wrong. Like it or not, something close to $2 mil is what it will take for someone with a decent track record.

LSU's going to pay top dollar, Arnett just isn't that guy yet. That's kinda what interviews are for.

You are right . He wasn’t worth the buyout. That’s why you interview. To see if it is worth the trouble . Whoever don’t understand this is either a idiot or never ran a business.

Will be interviewing D3 coordinators soon if we don't get off the pot. Funny Saban hires an OC to replace Sark while beating the dog snot out of OSU at the same time.

Then why even interview him.

Is this a serious question?

Don’t forget Sark has been building his staff while coaching in the CFP.

LSU was the very first major program searching for a DC...CEO knew he had to replace Bo after the 5th - 6th game and Seems to only have had 1 target. Freeman.

I know getting a job at the plant, you have to go through the union, so that’s all you understand.

But hiring a coach is different. Saban hired a guy who was unemployed. They’ve likely been talking for weeks.

Orgeron is doing the exact thing you morons accused him of NOT doing when he hired Pelini.

He’s LITERALLY interviewing all the hot young coordinators in the country.

Chill the frick out.

This is a fact downvote all you want. I wanted the guy really bad earlier today. However when you keep seeing the smoke he wasn’t offered it’s because he wasn’t.

Whereas Marcus Freeman was offered and we wanted him bad. Just left us at the alter.

No need to melt.

Great.

By mid November, CEO knew he was going to replace Bo. 2months later, he’s held his 2nd interview with his second choice and not offered. Interesting.

Just go ahead and name Raymond and end the shite show.

These frick sticks were going to melt regardless. If we would’ve hired Freeman they would’ve been hanging from the rafters screaming “ITS JUST LIKE CANADA HE HIRED HIM WITHOUT DOING ANY OTHER INTERVIEWS JUST BECAUSE HE WAS THE HOT NAME”.

Jesus Christ could return as the head coach at LSU and these assholes would want him fired by the third game

I haven’t heard much bashing but I doubt it’s for talking to candidates if there is bashing. It’s probably more so because once again O sold out for one guy, couldn’t get him, and OBVIOUSLY had to go back to the drawing board.
Also might have something to do that Nick Saban’s new OC was just a NFL HC while we are hiring guys that have no play calling experience.
Also Bama beat us this year on the field, in recruiting, and now at hiring coaches. All this one year after coach O said we are going to whoop theirs arse at all that.
Maybe also still sour about “our defense is better than at any point last year” fast forward, worst statistical defense in program history, DC fired for 4 mil.
