you just described the bankrupt champion that is Tennessee. Knoxville is not as nice as Northwest Arkansas. Their stadium may be large but it is an old POS.

The Fortune 500 is no surprise as TN has some larger metro areas. Arkansas fans are quick to throw out "facts" that are inflated in this regard. Still, though, having Wal-Mart and Tyson in the backyard donating money doesn't hurt...
I think the take away here is that this horse race does not have a clear winner. Both are nice areas with advantages and disadvantages. I do not think Gruden is making his decision on these socioeconomic indicators...
Let us look at some other facts. Total football program worth.
Arkansas #8
Value: 89 mil
Profit: 37 mil

Again, really too close to call, especially for a coach to be persuaded.
One issue though, is that Tennessee seems to be spending more than it takes in.

Arkansas has no buyouts to pay currently and already had a significantly higher budgeted salary than TN.
Other things to note:
Conference Titles
Arkansas: 13 SWC
Tennessee: 16, with only two of those being in the same period that Arkansas has been in the SEC.
National Titles
Arkansas: Claims 1, could claim 1-3 more
TN: Claims 6
Let's see, what else.
Tennessee has a larger, but rarely full these days, stadium. Arkansas is set for another expansion in the next few years.
Both schools have excellent facilities having just completed or near completing new football centers.
Arkansas has experienced much better success as of late, so there is a culture of winning that could still be salvaged.
Gruden has ties to TN through his GA days and wife, and that could make all of the difference.
In the end, us throwing this shite around may not predict anything.
