He's gone. I hate it as an opposing fan, but it has to be done. Bielema is a historical disaster at Arkansas and in no way deserves another year.

Why do people think Ark can't hire whoever is a good fit?

last two hires (-interim), were HC of NFL team during season, and college coach coming off multiple conf titles.

if anything, other schools should be worried Ark is looking.

At worst y'all will get norvell. He will recruit his arse off and bring in an exciting offense. He will be an upgrade.

I would think it's better to get one of your top choices next year as opposed to getting a coach in their 3rd or 4th tier this year.

Funny coming from a Mizzou fan. Arkansas will hire who they want. Don't worry about us. Thanks.

I have to admit, those were both solid hires. Taking guys away from the NFL and a successful P5 program is damned impressive.

Yall must have one helluva good Athletic Director to have pulled those off.

There is not a lot of guys who nobody thinks you can get other then the top 5 names . You guys are a above average P5 program.

If ark is serious, they get Leach. He recruits TX well, he has a scheme that he can recruit to that will cause others problems, and his floor is 8 wins, with a ceiling of 10 wins. Bielema tried to out-Alabama lsu and bama which had no chance of working. There are not enough of those types of players to go around. You need a coach with a scheme that matches the recruits

Leach at Arkansas would be a scary game. Leach’s team always plays way over its head for 1-2 games a year and surprises teams. They also play way down 1-2 times a year also

This is coming from a Michigan fan. MJackson is a Michigan fan not a MIZZOU fan! I was making a comment about what this Michigan fan saying this. Read back on what I post! I do not put a line through to separate and put the word quote and that is not me . I did for the one you said was a MIZZOU fan and it was not and go back farther and you will see I was not the first to typed it. MJackson was the one typed it. From now on I will put the quote and lines so that I will follow all of you people on this thread. Sorry for not putting the lines through.

MIke norvell seems like the best move

A 36 year-old with two years of head coaching experience? Is that what you really want to book the future of Arkansas football on? I love the kid to death. Watched him play at UCA during his college days and even got to know him a little bit. He's probably a better person than he is a coach but my gut tells me he's not ready to step out of the frying pan into the fire of SEC football.

He can stay at Memphis another year or two by solidifying his resume as a good up and coming coach or put that all on the line by having at least a couple of mediocre seasons at Arkansas for sure.

Leach should be their top choose followed by Kiffin . Both fit the Petrino mold of Being very good coaches that a lot of the bigger program ADs seem to be scared of . They need another Bobby Petrino not another Bert. When Bert left Wisconsin it seem like school and fans didn’t care very much . Rich Rod would be another good choice.

Official Day 1 update: The assumed #1 target can likely be scratched off the list with a SECCG win. Arkansas agents are now moving on to putting feelers out to LSU's defensive line coach to gague interest.

Give me Lane. I am tired of struggling at recruiting. I think he is the only guy that gives a shot at recruiting with the big boys.

Official day 3 update: Arkansas officials have confirmed Jerry Sandusky is not one of their targets.

A decent amount of smoke is forming around Brent Venables. Kiffin, Norvell, and Malzahn continue to be at the top of the speculated list. For some reason, Mike Leach is not gaining any traction in the "news"/reports/sources. Does that make it more or less likely he's a target? Hmmmm...
