Are Robinson and Durkin about to reunite?

So Robinson and Durkin were on staff together at A&M. Durkin became DC in 22 and made Robinson CoDC in 23 while praising him as a DL coach. May be something to this is Baker decides to leave. These coaches tend to lean on what they know and are familiar with.

Didn’t Durkin sign an extension at Auburn?

“Coach Golesh and I have known each other long time and I’ve got a lot of respect for him, his teams and the way they work. I’m excited about what he’s going to bring to Auburn and grateful for the chance to work alongside him. I love this group of players, and it mattered to me to keep pushing forward with what they have already started. The support my family and I have felt from the Auburn community has been unbelievable. This is home for us. I’m thankful for the Auburn Family and everything they’ve shown us over the last month, and I can’t wait to get to work.”
Auburn defensive coordinator DJ Durkin
Clearly I do.

“I will not be the head coach of Alabama” - Nick Saban lol
But honestly I don’t think Durkin is leaving Auburn.

Allbarn is going to be a beast going forward. They could actually contend for a playoff as early as next year. I hope LSU makes as much improvement as I think Allbarn will next year.

Saban's quote and Tubbs pine box are two classics.
I am sure Durkin will leave sooner rather than later, but he probably wants to kick the tires on HC openings next year. He did not do bad as the interim (despite the w'/l total) and I think some schools will probably be interested.

We don't even know if LSU would target him lol. I think we just throwing that out there because he has history with Kiffin.

It's funny you think it doesn't

The common sentiment is that Durkin didn't enjoy his time with Kiff.
He's already one of the highest paid coordinators in America and was willing to stay at Auburn after not getting the job despite other options.
I just don't see any argument that makes sense for him at LSU unless the conventional wisdom is wrong and he's actually really likes Kiffin or something.

Anyone in the SEC can contend for a playoff spot. The SEC has been shite for a few years now. When Ole Miss and A&M are in, that's evidence that things are upside down. Bama's also not any good and they're in. Bama beat Georgia, so the dawgs are questionable as well. This is not the SEC of the 2010s.

My New Year's wish is that Alabama remembers what it feels like to be in the cellar in 2026.
That and world peace.
But I have to pick one over the other, I choose the first wish.
