Aranda wouldn’t have a difficult time finding coordinators that’d want to work with him

Or players to play for. He’s a fair man. I think he makes more sense as a hire than most that’ve been mentioned. Maybe he wasn’t ready back in 2016 to lead. He’s a level headed, good family man. I think he’d be a damn good coach for us.
Edit: PAY DAT MAN HIS MONEY

Tom Herman at OC. Yes please.

I’d take Grimes too.

I could get on board with Aranda with a Briles as OC. I like Aranda. He would probably be 3rd on my list of who I think we can realistically get.

Didn’t Aranda have a reputation of not being a great recruiter? I seem to recall that.

Aranda is stoic and introverted. Do we really thinks he's going into living rooms and winning over 5* recruits families? You need someone with some sort of personality.

No coach is going to excel in every area. As long as he can identify his weaknesses and delegate, it shouldn’t be an issue. After all, we’re currently dealing with the fallout of the flipside to this.

Due to the connections here it’s reasonable to say he’s likely a top 3 favorite to land the job. I wouldn’t hate it but, like Tucker, his HC experience is a small sample size. Would need him to hire a splash OC

After the last two dumbasses we’ve had please just give me a smart guy with self-awareness and some meaningful football coaching skill. Somebody who knows what he does well and knows how to mitigate what he does poorly. Aranda is that guy 100%. Our defenses will be filthy and he can go get an offensive guy and a recruiter.

It’d either be Herman or poach Briles. It’d be some shite to see a similar lightning in a bottle season next year. Stranger things have occurred. This is college football after all.

Really?

He pulled in Kristian Fulton
Tyler Shelvin
Jacob Phillips
BJ ojulari
Kary Vincent
Jacobian Guillory
Glen Logan
Patrick Queen

Among others. I am sure Briles can get the offensive recruits.

First off. We’ve had a “zany personality” ever since saban left on Christmas Day 2004. I’m tired of zany personalities.

Also I don’t buy the Aranda can’t/hates recruiting. If that’s the case he’d be in the nfl like Brady is or taking the venerables route. The fact that he’s taken a P5 head job means he’s fine with recruiting because that’s the biggest thing in college football-talent stacking.

Also watch some interviews with him. He’s not as stoic as people make him out to be.

On the flip side Orgeron could recruit but couldn't coach for shite but still won a ship.

LSU’s Dave Aranda answered questions for a solid 5 minutes about his perfectly bald head. Reporter Breiden Fehoko working again today. Wanted some advice on pulling off the bald look “You gotta look in the mirror, and see what’s looking back at you and say ‘this ain’t right’ “

Coach O recruited a lot of those guys, and even if, Aranda was recruiting under O’s program and vision, not his own.

LSU recruits itself, need a good coach that can coach them up and Aranda can do that. He can bring in good recruiters and I’m sure can become a good one himself
