No. They counter and make him the HC. Problem solved.
But does Alleva and this administration actually have the balls and the intelligence to do so?

I would be okay with that. Aranda knows more about football than Orgeron easily. Orgeron is going to ruin this program, which is why so many people were angry at the hire. I couldn't believe it was real life.

It might be a matter of saving their own jobs to do so.

This whole thing sounds like someone told Ed to “be yourself,” or something like that after Moo State and Troy games because being hands off wasn’t working.
If true, he’s back to his Ole Miss management style which means doom.

I would have thought this last football hire would be life or death for Alleva
then he ended up hiring Coach O.....

Well that wasn’t what your post said. You said keeping Aranda or hiring Venables were the only two potential positive outcomes.
Which is complete BS.

Even though I made a separate point on the side..
Ummmm, no, it is not. Regardless of who had heard of him before or not, Aranda is a top two DC.

quote:I'm allin WW... but do people forget Alleva paraded 2 prior hires around boasting his chest? Anyone remember the Trent press conference?
the only thing that saves these guys is Wade somehow getting us to the tourney this year.
Give a toddler 3 shots at hiring a basketball coach and then hang his diaper on pick #3, only 12 games into his first season...
And you have Mr. Joe Alleva.

I don't have a lot of faith in Alleva to find a diamond in the rough. We're most likely downgrading if Aranda leaves.

Yeah, well that might have been part of a trap if you know what I mean. People have their weaknesses.
Personally, I did not like the O hire but was willing to give him a shot. I like how he rallied the troops after Troy. But Troy never should have happened. And if he is constantly interfering with his coordinators we have issues which will ultimately result in him being replaced.

That’s a different discussion altogether.

Just me or does this thread keep disappearing and reappearing?

I saw that. Figured they’d just delete that post and ban the genius. That idiot will probably get a visit from some uniforms.

I’ll let 8 season tickets go if Aranda leaves....
Complete joke of an athletic department, won’t get better until this frick stick of a governor is gone as well. The whole university leadership needs to be shown the door, and the have the new one realize what being successful in football has done for Alabama.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner.
Yes there are good, even great coaches out there.
Are you confident that O can find one?
Or Alleva?
It seems since the Canada deal, the main requirement for being considered is that you once worked with O.
That’s a very small subset of potentials.

I think Chicken is right -- if in fact this "story" is not total BS, it is the result of Aranda's agent stirring up shite to get a raise. Miles' agent did it as well.
But I try to be an optimistic guy. If Aranda does bolt, that has to indicate there is a problem with Orgeron's management ... and maybe a change would be made. I think this Canada stuff may be more serious than folks are willing to admit... and I find it conceivable that someone high in the LSU food chain is concerned about the prospect of paying Canada a hefty buyout, after one year.
