LINK

With Eddie Nunez being the AD there, it is a possibility. His name is the only potential candidate listed.

Hell, I'm a potential candidate at New Mexico. Alert the press.

quote:

UNM has never paid a football coach more than $1 million and Nuñez would not speculate on how much the next head coach would garner.

quote:

Thirty-eight assistants on that list made at least as much as Davie did after his perks bumped his salary to about $850,000.

Come on, man.

Yes they do. But if he's considering UNLV, he might consider New Mexico. Albeit Vegas is different from Albuquerque.

Ok. So now he’s supposedly looking at job that’s as bad or worse than UNLV, I have my doubts.

Someone somewhere is either orchestrating an elaborate distraction troll on LSU football, or Dave Aranda is looking for an exit strategy. One or the other has to be true tne way this is playing out since tne Georgia game.

This seems similar to Canada. Matt Canada was interested in every HC job under the sun. Aranda has to be thinking same thing.

Aranda is a weird guy, but he's highly intelligent and is respected across the country for his defensive prowess. Working for O probably feels like and insult to him sometimes.

But.... $2+ million can make you feel a lot better

The Nuñez link is interesting but that’s another tough place to win at consistently especially if you’re looking for a stepping stone gig.

The Nunez link is the only reason I posted this. I could see him going to Boise if Harsin leaves.

A late-emerging — albeit unlikely — candidate is LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda.

Although I can’t imagine why, this does give credence to the idea he is being moved out. You never heard a peep about him considering these kinds of gigs until now and if he wanted to bail from O he could have done so when A&M came calling. Just doesn’t make a lot of sense.
