After the way he led the Horns to a losing season & no bowl in 2010, I'm wondering if Mack Brown is getting senile. Did he gets this idea from Miles?

Didn't Orangebloods also report Leach to Maryland was a "done deal"?

And Teryl Austin to UT, and Adazzio to UT among other reports that didn't turn out to be true.

In fairness, I think most would have proven to be right but circumstances after the reports changed the situations like Adazzio being offered the Temple after he was lined up to go to UT.

I'm guessing they just gave the Co-Coord. title to Applewhite to keep him happy and justify a pay raise while Harsin will be running the offense.

There have been many successful co off and co-def coordinator tandems in CFB.

Just because Les put his two buddies in the position doesnt mean its bad for all.

Two 1/2 brains does not equal 1

With Applewhite and Harsin thats two good offensive minds. One on the field and one in the booth.

Harsin will call plays. Applewhite is being 'groomed'. For what, I do not know.

Don't you work with Ketch and Brown on 104.9?

Do you know how they are getting their info? Has Mack, Dodds, or the university released anyting?

No chance Les would hire/interview someone before the bowl game.. Harsin would have been a great get though.

How long does it take to be "groomed"? He's been an OC at Rice and Bama and still can't get the gig at Texas after being there 3 years as RB coach.

Applewhite = Do not want.

Harsin Co-OC w/ applewhite = Do not want.

I'm not buying this till I hear it from Harsin's mouth.

I guess I missed it, but what happened to Paul Chryst and his OL coach?

Is Diaz officially the DC?

Yes, Diaz is officially the DC.

As for Chryst, and again all according to Orangebloods and my Texas friends, Mack asked for an answer and told Chryst that if he didn't have a commitment, he would move on with the search. Chryst was still considering the Pitt job so they moved on.

Weren't their RBs terrible the past couple of seasons? So what happens? The RB coach gets promoted to Co-OC. I don't get that. What am I missing?

I could type a monster thesis on this but 90% of the problem was the o-line talent/coaching/scheme.

Not ALL of us.

Dr. Drunkenstein is right though, most of the problem running the ball was due to o-line and scheme issues.

I'm actually not excited about the Harsin hire. I'm not convinced that Boise's offense was more a result of Petersen being there, I think he's the brains in that operation. I wanted Holgorsen, Malzahn, or Chryst.

Not saying this won't turn out to be a great hire, it's just not one I can get excited about right now.
