It’s this exact fact that is why LSU won’t hire him. Not saying I agree with it or not but LSU has always hired big vocal personalities. That is not Aranda. Doesn’t mean he isn’t a great coach, just not a fit for the HC gig at LSU.

I want Riley but out of Riley, Kiffin, Franklin, Aranda and Napier I think all of them can win a shite ton of hardware here.

Saban wasn't that though. That's what i think intrigues me most about Dave Aranda. He just seems like a focused guy who doesn't get wrapped into the Bs. Obviously not saying he's the next Saban but i like that same demeanor with a loss as well as wins. Then celebrates when it's something to celebrate. May be boring but if it works.

Tucker I think is a dice roll

I agree except I feel more certain about Aranda. His Baylor team plays at Texas this Saturday. Let’s see how he does vs Sark.

Its kind of a hard concept to put into relative specifics and it cant always be described as a "bad" fit just because its not a good one. But a couple of things would be recruiting and how he's a northern leaning guy. Also the rape thing with the timing isnt great. Its hard to picture in a way. Same kind of thing with Fickell just hard to see the fit.

He’s a great recruiter and already coached in the SEC where he was wildly successful

In which he did nothing wrong that wouldn’t pass scrutiny at a place like PENN STATE

Penn State sucks because Franklin is trying to get the USC gig and doesn’t give a shite about Penn State

1. Lincoln Riley (Big name get)
1b. Matt Campbell (Very solid long term solution)
2. Luke Fickell (Solid backup if he would come)

I just want a solid, competent coach. Theres no 1 coach or bust for a program like LSU thats won 3 nattys with consecutive coaching staffs and 2 of those are absolute morons. We just need to hire a good head coach that wants to be here and he will get it done also. Im pretty sure that the next coach will be more competent than our last.

Any hire is a gamble. I'm just going to trust SW to get the right guy and I'll support our new coach no matter who it is, no matter how disappointed or underwhelmed I may initially feel.

He’s at Penn State dude. He’s recruiting well for what he has to work with there.

Even Joe freaking Paterno regularly had hiccup seasons there. It’s a good job buts it’s not LSU by a long shot.

i am close to this

Tomlin, Fickel or Riley would be grand slams

Campbell and Napier would all almost certainly be very successful at LSU

Kiffin- i think would have very high highs but lots of mediocrity sprinkled in. Offense would be dynamic as frick though.

Aranda I think very likely would be successful but less certain than the above due to recruiting.

Tucker or Chadwell I think is a dice roll, very high ceiling, very low floor

Franklin- you are just accepting mediocrity and letting the fans know that 9-10 wins and 2nd or 3rd place in the west is the goal from now on. Very high floor, very low ceiling.

That’s an expensive experiment. How much would we regret it if he becomes the “monster” that Will Muschamp was?

I woild Be happy with a lot of them.

This idea that one coach has the magic sauce to make LSU great isn’t true.

There are lots is smart driven coaches out there who if given the keys to a program like LSU would succeed.
