Anyone really have a candidate they know they want to be the next coach?

Obviously within reason. I've racked my brain and can't honestly think of a candidate that seems like the absolute guy for the job. Can think of plenty I like but nothing that just jumps out as the exact fit to right the ship. Just curious where everyone stands on this aspect. I've got others I like more than others just not the one.

It’s hard to answer this question without knowing who would realistically take the job. Obviously you’d think just about everybody would be happy with Saban but it’s not realistic. Are guys like Lincoln Riley realistic? We don’t know.

I’ve made it known multiple times I’m an Aranda fan. Just something about him, maybe because it’s all business with Dave that reminds me of Saban.

If LSU does pass on him and he becomes sort of the monster Saban is, we will all regret it.

I would love Chris Petersen, obviously he would have to want to come back to coaching.

IMO

Tomlin or Riley would be grand slams

Franklin, Campbell, and Kiffin would all almost certainly be pretty successful or very successful at LSU

Aranda and Napier I think very likely would be successful but less certain than the above

Tucker I think is a dice roll

From the beginning i think he's the one I've had the most affinity for. Mainly because of his recent success here and his lack of entertainment from the spotlight that comes from being the head guy.

I’m not sure who I want but I can tell you who I don’t want
1-Franklin
2–Tucker
3-Dabo

You could say that about Lane and Napier as well

His defense gave up over 300 yards rushing to Illinois. Dude ive watched several of his games this season it’s almost les miles all over. He does not impress me at all.

I bet he loses at least 2 more games maybe 3 this season

I can think of more reasons not to hire Franklin than can. He's a good leader but his product doesn't really match the perspective of him. Good defense and good rb play. Lackluster offense and average qb. Not to mention the annual head scratch loss.

I’m on the Aranda bandwagon personally. He’s already familiar with LSU and has a calm demeanor that is all about football. I think he’ll be a great head coach over the years whether it’s at LSU, Baylor, or another big time job he gets in a few years. Could be wrong, but he seems like the type that is always trying to improve everything he does. I wish we knew how much he was doing behind the scenes in 2019 honestly.

So you’d turn down the next coach being 114-34 here?

And if you’re basing your opinion off 2 or 3 games then you really are an idiot

I would turn him down for sure. He is on the downward trend.

He’s 49 not 65

They don’t give him money for facilities or assistants there plus they don’t put out the skill position talent there we do here.

This is a better job than where he is. He’d win more games here than he did there, just like every coach we’ve ever hired from another school except Curley Hallman.

I want the coach to be Aranda. The guy is just smart and I would trust him to be able to spot a good O.C. Im in the camp that the defense at LSU should always be tough and tactical and Aranda can guarantee that. Any coach you hire is going to be a risk there's no guaranteed winner that you realistically can get so take a risk on Aranda.

This is high stakes poker. You are free to choose a seat, but choose wisely.

Hell yes I do, Chris McCallum out of Walthall County, Mississippi, is my pick. He's a great coach. He happens to be my cousin as well. I'm convinced he has the strength and wherewithal to not only get a program to the top BUT ALSO to SUSTAIN/RELOAD. I believe he'd retire Sabamm's punk bich arse within 3 years.
