Actually it’s 100% true. Or else Chadwell (you know the guy who actually won the sun belt the year that Napier and UL claim ole miss style) would be the most talked about coach rather than Napier. But since he coaches at coastal and coached at Charleston southern rather than down I 10 no one wants him.

I think people are drawn to Napier's resume, which is pretty interesting:
2003–2004 Clemson (GA)
2005 South Carolina State (QB)
2006–2008 Clemson (TE/RC)
2009–2010 Clemson (OC/QB)
2011 Alabama (Analyst)
2012 Colorado State (AHC/QB)
2013–2016 Alabama (WR)
2017 Arizona State (OC/QB)
2018–present ULL (HC)

He's had a good bit of experience in good to high profile programs. Chadwell really doesn't. So I think the comparison fails.

A lot of position coach experience.

Coach O had more top program experience than this guy.

Has had MORE success as a head coach in the same exact conference.

Chadwell was busy winning games as a head coach on his own name rather than trying to use sabans name for his next job.

Why would Napier have passed on the AU job? That doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Kind of I guess it depends on what a top program is defined as.

True. But has only ever been involved at that level. So I guess it's apples to oranges.

Agents are ALWAYS evaluating the market. It's their job. I promise you, Woodward received calls from agents after the UCLA game...if not well before. I would expect he has an idea of who may be REALLY interested and who may just be trying to use the job as leverage against their current school.

Case in point, Will Wade and his agent recognized early in the 2016-17 season the LSU job was likely going to become available at the end of the season (which it did). So at some point prior to Jones being officially let go at the end of the season Wade's agent reached out to LSU folks to express interest...if the LSU job became available. It's rarely a situation of the school firing the HC...then starting to evaluate the potential candidates. The AD (if he's worth a shite) knows who may be looking for a move and who may be someone he can get.

All of this is true but it makes a material difference when there is actually a vacancy

He's done a good bit of that, with some bad years as well.

Clown comment.
Napier's been winning plenty in his limited time, including conf co-champs (with Coastal Carolina) last year.
And not sure why you characterize it as using Saban's name unless you're just being petty.

It’s just funny how Tuesday was Tucker talk, yesterday was Lincoln Riley, and today it’s all Napier

Take this for exactly what it is worth, but Rico Beard, who is a co-host on an afternoon sports radio show in Detroit and a big MSU fan and well connected with the program, just said that LSU is going to get Napier. Again, take this for what it is worth.

My feeling is that Woodward will swing for the fences on two or three big names, and when those don't happen he will "settle" for Napier.

“Our coach was right here all along “. Didn’t we just do that?

This is the first ULL game I've watched under Napier, the game is on right now, and I can't for the life of me figure out why the frick people push him so hard

Didn't he pass on Auburn and South Carolina last year? Someone must've told him to just wait it out...

More likely his agent leaked stories that he was talking to Aub and then when he publicly removed himself from consideration they spun it that he turned down the job. Cheap stunts like that make him so perfect for ULL.
